The staff are over worked and do not have the time to care for the patients. I know of several times a patient turned on the light for bathroom assistance and had to wait over an hour. One time I was in the room the tech came in turned the light out and said I am busy. It took over an hour then the NT came in placed her on the commode and went to lunch. She waited 20 minutes after pulling the assistance light to get off the commode. This is totally unacceptable.

Mostly a highly compassionate staff who round regularly on residents. There are quite a few employees who have longevity at the facility, and that continuity of care is important to residents. The activity staff is very engaged with residents, meeting a range of interests.

My mother-in-law is at this facility and is being very well cared for. She can be stubborn but they deal with that in stride. It is clean and the food looks amazing. We visit at unpredictable hours morning, noon, and night, and have always been greeted by the staff. They are respectful of her and us when dealing with anything that arises. I highly recommend this facility.

I will always be grateful to the admissions staff who admitted my father under less than ideal circumstances. They were friendly and communicative. I can not say enough about the facility and care, the place is clean, no odors, staff is always friendly and helpful, even on days when they obviously have their hands full. I visited daily and never saw a patient in need of anything or a situation that was not addressed. Even visiting relatives commented on how well this facility runs. This place deserves 5-stars throughout, especially compared to the other facilities that I visited before placing my father. I thank everybody at Penn Nursing Center to make his final days as good as possible!
