My friend (who is seriously considering Peninsula Del Rey) and I attended the Jazz Happy Hour on May 3, 2026. My expectations differed from reality and I was delighted but a little disappointed. First, the band was a serious jazz combo that knew their stuff. I would actually pay to see them somewhere. That was unexpected as I figured there would be some type of so-called smooth jazz and not skilled jazz musicians playing from the great American song book. Points for booking a great band! The other plus was the friendliness of the residents. When my friend struggled with her plate of appetizers and glass, they invited her to sit with them and use their table. That went a long way towards making us feel comfortable and welcome. Some small issues that could be improved: 1.) a minor issue - this was billed as a cocktail party and there was only wine and beer, no cocktails. Not a big deal, but don’t call it a cocktail party if it is a beer and wine HH. 2.) The food could be improved; the charcuterie plate was as visually appealing as it was tasty, but there was another platter of unrecognizable fried things that looked as bad as they tasted. Skip that next time. 3.) The last recommendation might be difficult with space limitations, but it would be nice to have a more “jazz club venue” with small tables that one could sit at or pull their wheelchair around. Reserve the area next to the aquarium for wheelchairs and walkers only. Overall, I would give the experience 4.5 stars, but since there is not an option for that, I rounded up.

Our family would like to thank Peninsula Del Rey for the amazing care that the faculty provided my mom who just passed. Our father will continue to live there because he felt that he has a community and the people really care about each . Maria Alcantara, Nurse Leticia and Nurse Gina, Nora and Francia are their favorites. Overall they are all great people there. We so highly recommend this facility one hundred percent.

Peninsula Del Rey is a beautiful facility with many amenities. While I am not at the point of moving out of my home, I would consider it as a possibility for independent or assisted living. I enjoyed the open house on 3/14/26. The tour was very good, and the tour guide was very knowledgeable in answering questions.

Wonderful experience from the beginning. We met Arsh Grewal who welcomed us with kindness. He was Interested in what we wanted in community living. We were very impressed with the size of apartments. The personal tour showed the cleanliness of this facility. All residents we encountered were smiling and happy. The dining room was elegant and bright. Many activities are available.

Peninsula Del Rey is beautiful. Arsh, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and did a great job showing us around. One woman had a rate sheet in her hand. I wish I could have picked up one. It was so nice to see the cleanliness of the place. Also I noted that all the staff that I met were so helpful, smiling and looked so happy. It was a pleasant few hours I spent there with my sister. The appetizers were delicious and so was the music. My sister felt tired so we left before the raffle drawing. Thank you for the tour.
