About Pasadena Home Care

Pasadena Home Care provides home health and hospice services in Pasadena, Maryland. The facility is operated by owner Wendy Xu and serves seniors requiring varying levels of support, including those with advanced dementia and end-of-life care needs.

Families consistently praise the staff's compassion and dedication. One family wrote that "the staff is fantastic" and noted the facility maintains cleanliness standards that stand out compared to similar environments. The owner is frequently mentioned as hands-on, caring, and accessible. However, families have flagged a communication barrier: most staff members speak primarily Chinese, though the owner does not and is present regularly. Families also raised concerns about hydration management, with multiple accounts of residents being admitted to hospitals for dehydration during their stays. The physical environment is described as older and in need of updating, though one family noted it is kept clean.

Prospective residents and families should weigh the strong staff care and cleanliness against documented gaps in fluid management and facility condition, especially if their loved one requires close monitoring of intake and hydration.

My mom was in this facility for 2 1/2 years. Most of the staff is very caring and helpful. Wendy, the lady that runs the facility is very caring , helpful and friendly. My mom was sent to the hospital several times for dehydration, which I believe was caused by her not getting enough to drink. The house could use lots of updating. We had to paint and scrub the carpet before we moved her in. All of the staff besides Wendy only speak Chinese, which is a big issue for anyone to communicate with them.

The place may be a little older, but the staff is fantastic. They clean constantly, it doesn’t smell like most places do. They cared about the people they take care of, and are very kind.

My mother was sent to hospital for dehydration May 27 because she wasn't given enough water or fluid. She was discharged to another nursing home and put under hospice. I was still demanded of full payment for June. It is not advisable to send your loved ones there if they can't live independently.

Our mom has lived at Pasadena Home Care for the past year. The staff and especially the owner, Wendy Xu, take excellent care of her. They are compassionate and hard working women. There is a communication issue with the staff (they only speak Chinese), but not the owner and she is there most of the time. Since our mom has late stage Alzheimer's, it's not a problem for her. She's happy and that makes us happy.
