Do not hesitate to leave your loved one at Parkland Memory Care.
I needed a safe place for my husband after a hospital stay determined he would be unable to return home. Stacie was instrumental in making our transition to Parkland seemless. She worked tirelessly to make sure my husband was taken care of. He has been there for several months and doing very well. The executive director, Maurie & Stacie continue to make sure he is doing well. It is a hard decision choosing a facility for your loved one, but Parkland has worked with me and for me to ensure my husband is well taken care of. The staff and the executive team truly care about their residents. I visit a couple times a week and the staff is always helpful when or if I need something for my husband. The facility is always clean and the staff engages with the residents. The facility has a “hotel” feel to it, it’s not clinical in the least. There are daily activities, and the layout gives the residents plenty of space to be in the common areas, and plenty of space to walk around.
I am grateful that I found Parkland. It’s a difficult time when you have to place a loved one in a facility, but the people here have made this transition a little easier for us.

My husband was at Parkland for a year; he passed away in June. It had become impossible to care for him at home. I feel very lucky that we found Parkland. I found everyone to be kind and caring to Terry and very helpful to me. I couldn’t have survived this past year without you!

When we decided that my wife needed to be moved into a memory care facility, we began the vetting process. Intuitively, I thought that those facilities that focused SOLELY on memory care would be better than those that were part of a senior living community (which also had assisted living and independent living) because memory care was their sole offering. Unfortunately, I subsequently learned differently.

I placed my wife at Parkland in October 2025, but relocated her to another facility in May 2026, after determining that Parkland was sub-standard in the following ways:
- The resident population was much lower functioning than I had imagined (and subsequently found to be the case as I observed the resident populations at the senior living communities that also offered memory care). I was told that the higher-functioning residents were on the west side at Parkland (lower-functioning were on the east side), when in reality, whenever they had an opening, irrespective of which side, that's where the next resident would be placed.
- The meals were hardly edible. I was told that if my wife didn't like the meal being served, she could ask for something else. Never happened.
- The activities were a joke, often never even happening (they were posted on a calendar).
- Communications were very poor. I prefer to ask questions and receive answers via email, so that I have documentation. I would almost always have to send a second request in order to get a response.
- The caregivers would act one way to the residents and another way to the loved ones.
- Lack of attention to cleanliness and sanitation practices relative to food service (i.e., carrying four glasses of juice by having a finger <with no gloves> in each glass).
- The business manager, who handles the finance function, does not have a sound fundamental understanding of accounting (or even bookkeeping).
- I came away from our six month experience feeling that "heads in beds" was clearly the goal.

In summary, I would simply suggest that you pay careful attention is selecting a facility for your loved one because there are huge differences between facilities.

I am so grateful for the outstanding care my mom received at Parkland Memory Care. The entire team far exceeded our expectations.

A special thank you to Debbie, the amazing weekend + night shift nurse. Her dedication, kindness, and attentiveness have been such a comfort to us — she goes above and beyond every single shift. We also want to recognize Yesenia and Maurie for their excellent communication whenever issues occurred. They were always responsive, transparent, and proactive in keeping us informed about my mom’s well-being.

From the caregivers to the management and support staff, the whole Parkland team, We felt confident and at peace knowing my mom was in such caring hands.

Thank you, Parkland Memory Care — you’ve made a world of difference for our family!

My mom was a resident for just over 6 years. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity, especially in her last days. Parkland works to educate families on the disease process of dementia. The facility is clean and full of smiling faces. They offer a host of in facility care such as medical, dental, hair and nail care as well as hospice. I highly recommend if your loved one requires memory care.
