Parker Jokes This place is hell for older people. The management does the bare minimum to just get by by the skin of there teeth. Like all nursing homes it's just a sad place for people to go and die. The one here in Winnebago is extra sad because I was just trespassed of of their property for "looking suspicious". All I was doing was going to visit a friend that is in there. She wasn't home (if u can call it that) so I went inside her place to write her a note. The administrator or whoever she is seen me go into my friends place. A few minutes later her and some tag along worker showed up at the room I was in. I can't remember exactly what they said because I really wasn't listening to them but I got the just of it that I wasn't wanted in the building. So I'm leaving and on my way out. What do u know but there's a cop coming in the door. I could feel that I was the reason he was here. Now mind u in me heading out I had to walk from one end of the building to the other to get to the front door and my friend had shown up from wherever she was. Now my friend has had heart surgery and a few strokes. U would think that a caring administrator would want a friend to b around this person as much as they r able to. Not this administrator or whatever her position is. I don't know exactly. For whatever reason she not only called the cops on me for no apparent reason other than I was alone by myself she also took out a restraining order against me so I cannot set foot on the nursing homes property which means I cannot go and visit with my friend. Oh and one more thing the administrator never once asked me to leave. She just dialed up the police and had me removed. Strange but true.

My husband and I toured this placed after researching the evaluations and citation records with the State of MN. It had been a number of years since my grandmother was a client of this facility. I could see a lot of changes and not in a positive way. Ownership had changed hands. Services now come in bundles making it the most expensive option we saw that day. The new part is nicer than the older section. The layout is not good for an elderly person. Staff were nice. Small town and a little off the beaten path. Depending on the location of the room it is a dreadful view or a lovely view.

Parker oaks is undergoing an expansion right now. Parking is very limited. Follow the cones that outline the access road. Be aware of construction vehicles. And if you cross paths with one of the Heroes working the site, be sure to give them a "thank you" for their tireless endurance and efforts.
