About Park At Franklin

Park At Franklin is an independent living community in Southfield, Michigan, with over 300 apartments across multiple buildings. The community serves seniors seeking residential independence without intensive care services.

Families consistently praise the maintenance and office staff as kind, considerate, and responsive. Several reviewers highlight the professionalism of leasing staff during the application process. The lobby and cleanliness of apartments are mentioned as welcoming and well-maintained. However, practical concerns surface: residents note insufficient laundry facilities relative to the number of units—only one or two laundry rooms serving the entire community—which creates bottlenecks. A few families also reference concerns about pricing transparency and management consistency.

Park At Franklin holds a 3.8 out of 5 rating based on 112 reviews. The community appears to have undergone recent ownership changes, which some reviewers view as an opportunity for improvement. Prospective residents should weigh strong staff feedback against documented infrastructure gaps and a mixed track record on resident relations.

5 Stars! I did a tour for a relative with Cynthia (Leasing Mgr). She was personable & ultra friendly. She answered all our questions & was great responding to all of my calls regarding the application process. Thank you Cynthia for everything 😊

The current maintenance staff have been wonderful. They are very kind, considerate, and understanding. The office staff is also great. However, I would like to suggest that there should be more laundry rooms. With over 300 apartments, there is only one laundry room in A-building and one in the C-building. There are no laundry rooms in the B building, and that’s not one per floor, but one for the entire building. I understand that the new owners have a lot of considerations as they recently purchased the building, but I would like to request that they consider adding more laundry rooms to the list of considerations. Thank you.

First of all I must commend the staff at Park at Franklin. Everyone i met was courteous and cheerful. Cynthia was my consultant and the professionalism was phenomenal..She was positive and genuinely concerned. She followed through with everything presented and promised. Now the cleanliness was anotherthing that sold me. Also the beautiful lobby! When I walked into my new apartment it felt like home. The maintainance employee, Jace came to help right away and was so kind & efficient.i attended the meet & greet and had a lot of fun. The staff treated the residents with care and respect. ❤️

I am extremely disappointed and outraged by the way this facility has treated my 74-year-old father, a military veteran, who has lived here for 9 years. After two unfortunate occurrences of bed bugs—one of which we successfully resolved with my assistance—the facility is now threatening to evict him, citing "health and safety" concerns. The second incident happened during a time when I was unable to assist as I had just undergone surgery and couldn't lift or move heavy items. This was explained to the facility, yet they showed no compassion or understanding of the situation. Instead of offering support or reaching out to me as his guardian for assistance, they moved straight to threats of eviction—during the holidays, no less! Evicting an elderly, disabled veteran without making reasonable accommodations or allowing time for resolution is not only heartless but possibly illegal. Their failure to communicate effectively with me as his guardian demonstrates a complete lack of care for their residents' well-being and dignity. I would strongly caution anyone considering this facility for themselves or their loved ones. No one should have to fear being put out on the street, especially vulnerable seniors who rely on these facilities for stability and care. It’s appalling that a place designed to provide safety and comfort would treat a veteran—who served this country—with such disregard. If you care about your loved ones, think twice before trusting them to a facility that prioritizes rules over compassion and refuses to work with families to find solutions. This experience has left us deeply disappointed, stressed, and searching for better options.
