I had known that Overlook Village offered the very best in care, amenities, and services from the very beginning, but it wasn't until my mother's health decline and passing did I see first-hand the incredible compassion, care and support of the nursing staff as the daughter of a resident. They not only cared for my mother, Nancy, at her most vulnerable but they offered cared for and comforted our family in a most trying time. In the mere 6 weeks of my parents being in Assisted Living at Overlook, my father who had retired from teaching only on year prior, realized her was eating so much better than at home, he was enjoying fresh fruits and fresh vegetables every day and was feeling physically better and stronger. Also, during those 6 weeks in Assisted Living, my father Bill built a community of friends from the residents and staff at OV. Bill connected especially with the dining servers and the housekeeping staff. Today, Bill lives in Independent Living and has since 2021 with his beloved parrot, Bogey. Bill is very active with the many and varied activities and outings at Overlook Village. He loves the wide variety of foods available in the dining rooms. Cheeto, Overlook’s service animal is always a sweet comfort with a wet nose and hairy paws!<br>Best of all, Bill has a space in the raised garden bed so he can continue his life-long passion for growing vegetables and flowers. As a daughter, I sleep better at night knowing Bill has access to assistance 24 hours a day.
