Horrible! First day there for rehab for a broken hip my family member was left in a transport wheelchair for seven hours! Nurse come in for five minutes asked questions and left. Family member put call light on several times asking for assistance to the bathroom no one come, family member called me crying and ask for me to call the nursing station for help because they kept turn the call light off without even responding. I called and spoke to the nurse about my concerns she was extremely rude and seemed annoyed because I asked her why therapy hadn’t been in to assess my family member within those seven hours and why no one has been into her room despite her calling several times over the seven hours to use the bathroom. She stated that therapy will see her tomorrow and that she will be a two assist until they do their assessment so I asked if she could send someone to the room to take my family member to the toilet. I then call back my family member and within a half an hour after me calling they did take her to the bathroom. So we thought maybe it was just a off day and possibly just short staffed. Thinking it would get better but it didn’t. Over the last several days maybe saw an aide two to three times they dropped off a few towels and wash clothes. My family member washed up at the sink the dirty towels fall on the floor in the bathroom and have been there for three days. One day my family never received breakfast she had to ask someone walking by her room if breakfast was being served or not. Then the aide apologized and brought her cereal and coffee because she said that was the only they had left. We also asked if the sheets on the bed could be changed because they were dirty and had blood on them from her bed sores they stayed that way three days until I come to Visit and had to go to the nurses station and speak again to the rude nurse on Sunday afternoon I explained to her that we asked three days ago if someone would change the sheets but It still hadn’t been done and that if she would give me The sheets I do it myself she rolled her eyes and said we only have one aide on and she’s busy so the other nurse that over hear us talking went and got sheets and helped me change them. My family member didn’t even have toilet paper so I seen a aide walking by the room and asked if she could get a roll She stated I’m not on that side! Really you can’t grab a roll! So I had to go looking down the hall for housekeeping thankfully I was able to find her and get a roll . The only positive is that the therapist were wonderful but as for the nursing staff they should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat and speak to people thank god my family member can speak for herself and get around I can only imagine how they treat the patience that are immobile and can’t speak for themselves Very sad.
