Otterbein Marblehead SeniorLife Community is a senior living community in Lakeside, Ohio offering Assisted Living, Independent Living and Skilled Nursing / Long Term Care. Amenities include Restaurant style Dining Room, Outdoor Patio and Gathering / Activity Spaces. Families rate it 4.0 out of 5 across 26 reviews.
Otterbein Marblehead SeniorLife Community is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Lakeside, Ohio, with a licensed capacity of 20 residents. The community also offers independent living and assisted living options across a lakeside campus.
Most families highlight attentive, caring staff who engage meaningfully with residents and families alike. Residents and visitors consistently note the well-maintained grounds with walking paths and gardens, clean facilities, and quality meals. Families report feeling confident their relatives are safe and supported, with particular praise for individual staff members who go above and beyond during the admission and care process. One family wrote that a staff member was "nothing but amazing" in helping them navigate a difficult transition after surgery.
However, a small number of reviews raise serious concerns about inconsistent care, including reports of residents left in soiled clothing, missed medications, and staffing challenges that some families attribute to HR and management issues. These negative accounts stand in sharp contrast to the predominantly positive feedback from other families.
Otterbein Marblehead holds a 4.0 rating across 26 Google reviews, reflecting both strong satisfaction and meaningful concerns that prospective families should discuss directly with the community.

We have been pleased with the ease of the application process, the outstanding communication from the Director of Marketing, Evie and our new neighbors. Everyone is friendly and helpful in the transition from a large ranch home to a patio home. We are glad to be closer to our family in retirement!

Staff have left residents sitting in soiled clothing and, in some cases, without needed medications. In one situation, a resident reportedly went without medication, experienced atrial fibrillation (AFib), and passed away the following day. The facility often feels more like a prison than a place focused on care and dignity. I would never place a family member here. If you’re considering this facility, I strongly encourage you to research other options before making a decision.

I don’t do reviews very often, but my mom had surgery and needed to go somewhere to heal after dealing with insurance companies and places that were not suited for my mom. We finally found this gem. Let me just say Sammy who works there is one of the best people that I have ever met. Her ways of helping and calming you down with that smile she gives you. She has been nothing but amazing. She helped me get everything figured out and anytime I needed to call her.she is right on the spot . Everyone there has been so nice and my mom is really enjoying her time there as much as she can. When it is time for my parents to live in assisted living I hope that we can choose this place for them. I just want to make sure whoever reads this knows that Sammy is the best employee and you don’t find many like her . If anyone is looking for a place for rehab or assisted living please take the time to visit this place. Thank you again Sammy !!!
