The OVH nursing and doctor team took excellent care of my father who was a resident since 2012 until he passed comfortably and peacefully with his favorite nurses. Granted, the State of Ohio/government has changed numerous times during his residency, and my dad was able to advocate that he (and the other residents) still worth of dignity and respect as a human person regardless of any health or disability issue that might be present. A special thank you to Evan, Patti, Kathy, Suzanne, Andrea, Hope, Kim, and all the support staff throughout the years who proudly cared for my dad. Please continue to provide excellent care those who have served our country!

BEWARE!!!! If u love ur loved one do not send them here !!! This place may be run through the state of ohio, but it's no different than any other place, my dad says this place is like a prison and i believe he is right, they make it so difficult to get into & when u do seems all u are is $$$ to them, i don't think a place that says it's for veterans. Should be taking money of any sort from our veterans!!!!! they need a refuge to just breathe they have earned it & i think Ohio or any state that has these type of places should make a space in their budget these verterns gave life and limbs even for our freedoms what do we give them in return ??? here lets take your $$ & even charge for a haircut or nails clipped on top of the already high rent, that they will raise if the veteran gets more $$ ( how are they to use their $$ for anything enjoyable if OVH takes it & then treatens eviction or taking them to court SERIOUSLY! you try to argue the point they say yeah, they are the cheapest around which is b.S that's your arguing point, not a very good one. something has to change for those who gave their lives for us , can we not give back to them ???? many dont have family members who care or would do ALL the paperwork or have a place for them to go live , and yes its ridiculous but for those who need help this should be a safe haven for those in need just saying !!!! READ THE FINE PRINT AND LISTEN 2 UR LOVE ONES! I Asked for a hospice referral and they refused my father 5 times for just a referral brought my dad home he died 6 days later after he got a hospice referral through his VA ! They act like their medical team is God , BTW they never meet your loved one in person !!! All done behind the curtains like the wizard of Oz!!! This is a fraud !!!! My father would have died a horrible death if I didn't bring him home and out of there !!! Least he was at peace when he passed on HOSPICE! Thank God for the local VA !

OVH did an amazing job caring for my father for six years. The staff was wonderful, caring and attentive. My father loved both the staff and the food. They have a fabulous gaming room for socializing, which my kids spent hours playing with their grandfather in. They have over a dozen peacocks and a beautiful pond. We could not have been happier with his care. Thank you especially to Denise, Lydia, Bill, and Rich in the Secrest Nursing Home for their extra effort to make him comfortable in his final weeks. I would recommend OVH to anyone.
