Took absolute negligent care of my mother when she was dying in 2019. She cried to me to not leave her as the nurse came in to “help” her. She had contracted pneumonia, which was ignored until we had her go to Carson Tahoe Hospital, while the Ormsby staff kept telling her young children. “What will the hospital do for her that we can not do for her”. I’m not sure of his name but it was a male staff that kept telling this to me. I was 17 years old, as he was telling me this. Thankfully with help of one of the nurses there, we got my mother transferred to Carson medical. Please stay away from this establishment with a 10 foot pole. They do not care about your family’s well being. If I could give 0 stars I would.

My Father has been in the care of Ormsby for a month now! From admitting, to care, every aspect of the facility has been amazing. There are truly some standouts! Whether I’m visiting and seeing it for myself, or my dad telling me how great they have been with him, it has been a great experience. I highly recommend Ormsby to anybody needing a safe and loving facility for there elderly parents. It is simply outstanding. I’m including a picture of my dad and my son. This place is the real deal! Thank You Ormsby Team!

My wife was a patient at Ormsby in July - August 2024. The care provided was horrendous. On two occasions, she was left alone in an unsupervised room while on O2 and her tank ran out; she almost died - she justifiably panicked. The care staff was conciliatory at best. Physical therapy staff was borderline abusive, as my wife was barely ambulatory. They almost forced her on her feet when she was in severe pain. There were other occasions when her brief went unchanged for hours. I have a video made by her. It is heart wrenching. The CNA's told us they were "understaffed", and there were frequent changes in her care providers. I attended staff meetings to help ensure competent care, but it did not help. This was a truly miserable experience. I am now in the process of reporting the facility to Medicare, something I should have done months ago. I would not recommend utilizing this facility. This is coming from a medical professional (retired). The facility assured us that my wife's stay was authorized/approved by Medicare and an excellent supplemental plan only to receive a bill for $8,600.00 5 months after her discharge. The facility's and staff's behavior towards my wife was completely unacceptable. If you care about your loved one, avoid this facility. There are others in Carson City that provide quality care. Use one of these instead. My wife has since passed away, and this facility undoubtedly contributed in some way to her demise, if by nothing else providing an atmosphere of non-caring, stressfull and, providing extremely poor care. Please look at Ormsby's Medicare rating on their website (medicare.gov). As of July 29, 2024, it was one star with the comment that the facility barely met Medicare guidelines. She did not wish me to write this review, but now it is time.

The staff has been totally professional, the treatment program physical therapist, occupational therapist, nursing staff all medical staff as well as Activities staff have been outstanding. The facility is very clean and professional. All needs have been addressed, but the best part is everybody was friendly and it seems more like a family than a working staff Going through the motions! Thank you for the care and attention that you have given my mother and myself on visits!!! I would definitely recommend Ormsby post acute rehab:)

Night shift is rude, slow, confused about medication, poor patient care, slow response time, argumentative, & fail to follow health safety protocols such as masks....gloves...garb up for immune compromised protocol. Or follow through with special instructions from doctors. A specific Male RN should be fired. My family member fighting cancer has received horrible care. Iv sat with him every night to make sure he is getting care. & Iv had to fight for the staff to do thier jobs. We will get our family member out ASAP! I truly worry about the other patients. Day shift seems much better ..... But don't leave your loved ones alone with night shift🥺 scary Update: 1st 3-4 days was a fight for basic care & a very difficult transition. But going higher up, a care conference with management & a team of caregivers things have gotten much better. This facility does have some amazing staff, especially PT, & a group of very real & caring nurses. You can't just dump & run your loved one! You must speak up, be present especially after dinner & advocate. I want to give the good staff much credit. They shouldn't be punished for the few who truly do bring the place down. Management did take action & awareness. Thank you to the hard working & compassionate caregivers who show up, step up & care. If you hate your job leave! My rating has gone from a 1 (one) to a 3 & 1/2. But I had to push hard for it.
