This review is based on Opulent home Care’s business and recruitment practices; we have not contracted with them or experienced their services. We experienced overly aggressive and unreasonable selling of Opulent Home Care’s services while my loved-one was in rehab. This selling took place more than five times: before any discussion of discharge, during discussions of discharge, after I clearly said no twice, and again, when discharge was contraindicated but Grandview sought discharge anyway. In fact, the first discussion of discharge happened through a salesperson visiting her in rehab. Opulent was sold to my relative first, foremost, and repeatedly, even after I said no. Moreover, they did their selling to a patient on pain meds that affected their cognitive abilities. None of this is okay. Sending salespeople to vulnerable residents should be an obvious no: this is a completely dodgy practice. Nor should the first person to discuss discharge be a salesperson. Whatever Grandview’s financial relationship is with Opulent Home Care, it is causing them to neglect their fiduciary and care-taking responsibilities to their residents. I am 100% sure that had I not stood in the way of my relative being discharged and sold Opulent’s services that they would have been discharged in spite of her need to be in rehab AND the fact that she had already paid for it through her Grandview contract. Both Grandview and Opulent need to re-think these inappropriate and aggressive sales tactics if they want to be trusted with in-home health services.
