I was at this facility for 4.5 months and I still have PTSD from my experience there. They (management staff) are in it for the money, period. I have private insurance and the PT staff, nurses (all but one), let me know that I could not take care of myself, even after 4 months. I suffered from terrible leg/feet swelling and there were times I had one or more PT trying to force my feet into shoes and AFOs. The food was horrible, I'd ask for celery and carrot sticks, I got black ones served, obviously rotten. Also, sometimes waited hours for medication. I finally got to the end of what insurance would pay for. They wanted me to sign a AMA (against medical advice) form, I refused. I was leaving because of insurance not covering any further stays. They would not give me any medication to take home or call into a pharmacy, I had to arrange my own transportation home and refused to carry bags to the door for me. Mind you, I'm leaving in a wheelchair and have zero maintenance meds to go home with. Besides a couple of CNAs and one nurse, this place is horrible, find another place for your loved ones. After I left, numerous employees quit working here. Oh, the facility also reported me to Adult Protective Srvcs. which to me was retaliation for me leaving. Did I mention that my roommate died and I was left in the room for 5 hrs with her body! Within 2 weeks home, my health and physical healing was phenomenal. On the surface, they appear to be the perfect place. If you are a resident, its a different story.
