It's only been a little over a since my mother was admitted but so far everyone at the facility has been wonderful. All of our questions have been answered and staff are attentive and responsive.

Everyone was very friendly. My mom was able to play a piano which brightened her spirits as well as a few others.

I had not been here since I retired many years ago from Venango County Mental health. At that time I hated opening the door for the smell would hit me in the face. I was pleasantly please to find nothing like that now.

The Pros:<br><br>PT and OT services were excellent. Most direct care staff were pleasant and work very hard to keep up with day to day living.<br><br>The Cons:<br><br>My mother resided at this facility for 9 weeks. During her time at Oil City Nursing and Rehabilitation she experienced the following:<br><br>Numerous medication mix-ups. Staff accidentally tried to give her other residents' medication and accidentally tried giving too many doses of her own medicine. On more than one occasion, she had appointments around the lunch hour. No attempts were made by staff to provide her with a lunch prior to, during, or after those appointments. Some appointments were cancelled by staff with no family consultation agreeing to a cancelation. Records seem to be poorly organized and asking for a copy of records is like pulling teeth.<br>On one occasion, when my father went to visit, he entered her room to find a bed pan filled with urine was sitting on top of a chest of drawers where hygiene products are kept. On another occasion my mother was taken into the shower, where a previous resident had a toileting accident on the floor. The aid that took my mother to the shower took note of the feces. Instead of cleaning it up, the aid proceeded to shower my mother with the feces in the shower room.<br>My mother was very sensitive to touch. When staff used a sling to get her out of bed, she was in a considerable amount of pain and told staff they were hurting her. One staff replied to her to "quit being a baby". Additionally, they always seem to be short staffed.<br>There is no productive help or guidance from the administration in regards to insurance processes. Vague information was provided. However appealing insurance decisions and submitting reconsiderations is done by the family, without any useful information from administration.<br>We only stayed for the wonderful PT/OT services. My best advice to anyone considering sending a loved one here - be your loved ones advocate! No one here, especially administration, will advocate for your loved one.<br>Please don't suggest we reach out to administration, as that has proven to be useless. My father and I met with the administration and/or emailed regarding all the above. Nothing changed. Emails were ignored.

Went in to see my mom. Not a good place. Takes almost an hour when she rings her call bell for someone to come. Nurses come in and do half ass job taking care of her and then don't ever come back to give her fresh water or if she asks for something it takes forever to get it. Admins arent good either. Worse place, the hospital was better than this place. I'm thinking about looking into finding her a new home.<br>Update:<br>Now my mom has some bed sores and the nurses aides aren't helping or being nice to her at all. I cant wait to find her another home. It's in the works!
