I am blown away at how great all of the medical staff at Surgeons Choice were. I had my gastric sleeve done there by Dr Laker and would 10/10 recommend. Every member of the team treated me with dignity and respect. I am forever grateful.

My husband had hand surgery at the Macomb Center at the end of January. My 1 star review is in direct response to the horrendous experience we are having with the billing department. We paid the full amount on the spot to avoid having a lingering high medical bill. In February when I received my EOB from my insurance, I discovered we overpaid by $2,486.22. I have been extremely patient with multiple calls now for such a high overpayment. On my first call on 2/26 I was told a review was open and it could take 30-45 days. I waited, and after not receiving an update, I called back on 4/10 and was told it was being escalated. 12 days later and again no contact, I called to check the status and was given the run around with zero answers as to when we will be refunded and was told there was no time frame on these kinds of things. Absolutely absurd! If the tables were turned, us owing them, there would be a time frame of when things are due, and if we didn’t pay by said due date we would be sent to collections and be harassed to pay them. We may have to look into taking them to small claims court if this is not resolved ASAP.

I had been struggling to walk due to spinal stenosis and two bulging discs, and my quality of life had really declined. From the moment I arrived at the center, every single person—from the staff and nurses to the anesthesiologist, PA, and Dr. Patel—was absolutely outstanding. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, informed, and at ease before surgery. I underwent a laminectomy at L2-3 and L5-S1, and the results were immediate. As soon as I woke up, the pain in my legs was significantly improved. It was an incredible feeling after everything I had been dealing with. The surgery was a complete success, and I’m now looking forward to continuing my recovery. I truly feel blessed to have had my procedure done by such skilled and compassionate professionals. I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his entire team—they are some of the best in Michigan.

I had spinal surgery at Surgeons Choice Medical Center. I was very nervous going in, but the staff in pre-op were very comforting and sympathetic. I ended up staying two nights at the center, and the care I received was nothing short of amazing. The nurses and staff are among the most attentive and caring people I've ever met. I was blown away with their kindness and professionalism. Huge shout-out to Debra, Kirsten, Kristy, Celecia, and Paris. Without you ladies, my stay there would've been terrifying, but you all helped to keep me calm by being on top of meds and by treating me like a friend. None of you made me feel like I was "just another patient". I could feel your love for what you do in the care you gave me. Dr. Hares and Dr. Patel were the ones who performed my surgeries, and they were very warm and informative about the details of the operation. I appreciate you all more than I can express. Because of your great care team, I'm confident that my quality of life will continue to improve, and I'm so grateful. Thank you all. -Amber

I didn’t know what to expect after reading other reviews.. but after my own experience: Fantastic service provided from intake to outpatient. All staff members were very professional and welcoming, Doctors and nursing was very transparent and informative with every step. They helped me feel important and ensure that my safety and comfort mattered. For my very first surgery, they’ve really helped set the bar high
