Having been a Nursing Supervisor at a skilled nursing facility prior to moving south 8 years ago I cannot believe this nursing home is so bad. My husband was admitted on Tuesday May 12 2026 at 10 pm for a short stay for PT to get him back to his baseline prior to a 2 week hospitalization where he only was allowed to the bathroom with two assists with his walker. He was completely continent at the hospital asking to get up to the bathroom and it took a large male Nurse and another female nurse to safely navigate the few steps to the bathroom. He had a bed alarm and siderails up so he could not fall out of the bed. Yay for Trinity Hospital. Not once during his hospital stay did he fall. Upon admission I watched the male LPN as he was doing the skin assessment and the female RN was overseeing as well and I closely looked at his bottom and there was absolutely 💯 no signs of any pressure ulcers. The RN was super awesome she listened to me explain that he was a huge fall risk and was told at this facility they needed a Dr's order to get side rails and they were very small meant only to help the patient reposition themselves not good enough to prevent falling out of bed. I was astounded! So they lowered his bed to the lowest position which meant he would have about a two foot drop to the floor. I had brought my husband a special dinner to raise his spirits and looking around the room there was no bedside table for him to eat with. So he made due eating off his lap with many paper towels covering him. I also found there was no chair for me to sit in. The awesome RN quickly had someone get me a chair. Then someone informed us that his room phone didn't work and that there was no string in the overhead light to turn it on. I'm thinking

Our experience at Nursing and Rehab Center of New Port Richey has been excellent! Our representative Wanda Pollard worked with us relentlessly communicating between the insurance co. and us. She was available 24/7 and made the process tolerable. The staff has been very helpful and caring to my husband. We are very happy and have peace of mind with my husband being here to recover.
