I love just about EVERYTHING here at Novel Place. I love the light decor and color scheme, and the wide hallways. Most of all, I love the friendliness of the people. I love all the activities. You don’t have to ever be bored or alone, unless you want to be! The food is excellent and that’s important! You never have to dine alone, unless you want to, but for us, it’s a social time and we love it! I have been here 4 1/2 years and I’ve never looked back. Best thing I’ve ever done. And my family agrees!

Over the years, I have had three friends live at Novel Place. Every time I visit there, the beauty and cleanliness of the facility is everywhere. When catching the elevator to my friend’s apartment, it is evident by the laughter that the residents are happy and are participating in the afternoon’s activity. I have eaten several dinners and rate the meals above average, and I was impressed me how happy and welcoming everyone was. Although I haven’t yet made the decision to move, but when I do, it will be to Novel Place. One more thing for me personally is there are several restaurants within walking distance and a multiple of shopping venues within a mile. Very convenient.

We moved in September, 2025, about 6 months ago & are in our 70's. It was a huge decision to move away from our home of over 40 years where we raised our family in OP KS. We realized we couldn't keep the yard up & stay on top of home repairs anymore. We heard from a neighbor about Novel Place & scheduled a tour. We were very impressed with how happy everyone was, both residents & employees! The meals were a nice surprise too. The apartments were nice & had handicap features too. We loved the atmosphere of community we felt from the beginning! Angie was very helpful with a recommendation of a moving company that did packing, moving & unpacking helping make this the easiest move ever. We are thankful we were able to stay in the area we love & are familiar with! We can get rides to places & keep a car for small errands. The biggest plus is that we didn't have to give them our nest egg & we can hire in home health care help &/or hospice if needed. This was a great move for us & we are both very happy here!! P.S. Editing previous review with an update: They advertise being pet friendly here but they have recently evicted two dogs we had become very fond of. They hadn’t bit anyone but were barking. Don’t all dogs bark? There are other dogs here that bark but haven’t<br>been evicted. Why the favoritism? A resident here was hitting a barking dog on her head instead of picking her dog up to help calm him. The violent resident had no repercussions for her behavior or her dogs. I felt compelled after these two recent evictions to amend my review & warn other animal lovers that this may not be the place to come with pets. Edit by Margaret Fisher. 7/14/26.
