Nmmc Baldwyn Nursing Facility

Baldwyn Nursing Facility is a long-term and short-term skilled nursing facility in Baldwyn, Mississippi, home to 107 residents. The facility has served the area since 1987 and is affiliated with North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, a 2006 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipient, and North Mississippi Health Services, a 2012 Baldrige Award recipient.

Resident care is directed by a licensed physician supported by a clinical team including a certified nurse practitioner, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, certified nursing assistants, and respiratory therapists available 24 hours. The facility is equipped to treat a wide variety of diagnoses from orthopedic injuries to complicated medical and neurological disorders.

Rehabilitation services are provided seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for inpatient treatment. The staff has extensive knowledge in physical, occupational, and speech/language rehabilitation techniques and offers specialty certifications including LSVT BIG/LOUD treatment for Parkinson's disease and other neurological conditions. Short-term rehabilitation admissions require a prior qualifying hospital stay of at least three nights. The facility supports discharge planning with education, home care instructions, and referrals to help patients transition home or to alternative care environments.

The Therapeutic Leave program allows inpatient rehabilitation patients day passes not exceeding eight hours to acclimate to their home environments and help caregivers identify additional support needs before discharge. The facility also operates a Second Time Around Program making new and used medical equipment available to patients who cannot afford to purchase items.

Social and recreational activities for residents include bingo, crafts, exercise sessions, and musical guests. Respiratory therapy services address ventilator and tracheostomy care.
