My mother stayed at NMCF. I was not involved with my mother’s care until after she was removed from there to be transferred to a different facility. Unfortunately, since I am my mother’s MPOA, they have put my name on her billing and are threatening claims against me. NMCF knows that I am not her financial guarantor. I am not connected to the estate, and other family members were involved in her financial decision making. They are trying to bully me into making less than a $300 payment. Once I took over my mother’s medical care outside of NMCF, all payments were covered by Medicaid or Medicare.

My grandmother has been here for a couple years now. She had fallen a few times in the past and is unfortunately unable to stay at home any longer. The staff here is amazing. They truly care about the residence that are staying here. The place is clean and well maintained. The residence are free to move about the facility and some are even able to leave (half is assisted living & other half is more typical nursing home). The grounds are well maintained and during the summer months they have a pond out back that you can go sit at to get outside without leaving the facility. It's always hard when you have to put a loved one in a place like this...but if you have to and are in the Newaygo area this is the place you want to put them...unless you don't care about them and the care they receive.
