Originally constructed in 1983, Newark Gardens I underwent comprehensive rehabilitation in January 2011. Renovations included replacement of original single-paned windows with energy-efficient double-paned windows throughout all residential units, complete removal and replacement of the existing siding, and roofing repairs.
Newark Gardens I and the adjacent 50-unit Newark Gardens II together comprise the only fully affordable multifamily housing developments in the City of Newark.

I have an acquaintance living there they have had a water leak in the building for quite some time and smells like mold I really feel for the people stuck there, I wish there was more low rent housing around. All I can do is pray the people do not get sick
