My mom has been there for almost 2 years now and while no nursing home is perfect and some are far from it entirely, this place is and has been so good for my mom. The activities director, Kristina Carnevale and her team are exceptional. They all use sign language and some are quite fluent. They have outings and in house activities including a visiting hair stylist that comes once a month. They encourage and support the residents like no where I've seen before. The nursing staff, headed by Deborah Anastopoulos are excellent. She is retiring but for the past few years has been nothing short of amazing. She responds to emails right away and keeps us posted on our moms current status and needs. Her replacement seems to be similar. Being in NYC, we cannot always be with our mom like we used to which is one draw back but the distance out weighs the worry and stress of having her in a place that offers no communication access and not much atmosphere and support. I'm grateful.
