My favorite place to visit. I go to a ton of ALFs, and i don’t quite think i’ve had a place just a homey and relaxed as this. it’s a care environment where you don’t feel like you’re being overwhelmed. The most passionate people i’ve ever met in my healthcare career work here. People passionate not just about care, but whole body care, resident mental health, quality of life. A home where i genuinely would be fully comfortable with any of my family members being, knowing they’re happier than i could ever make them. They’ve got activities, exercise class, music. Some of the best food i’ve ever seen in an alf- Made by a home cook following all guidelines. Not just fake eggs and microwave bacon. Someone who genuinely cares about the food she cooks. Who’s willing to teach. I don’t have any other ALF i go to where people know my name, the residents ARENT complaining about the food, complaining about the caretakers. The residents genuinely don’t have something to complain about. Not that i’ve heard. The owner of the company- He’s passionate too, and he takes pride in being different. And i think that difference is what separated NDC from other ALFs. I walk in here and there’s people doing puzzles, some watching TV, Some sitting in groups talking and having a good time. The care staff is attentive but not overwhelming. I walk into any other ALF, and there’s residents staring off into space at the walls, not being spoken to unless it’s about their meds, or it’s meal time. It’s heart warming to see the compassion and strive that the people of this facility hold. Thank you- to Maura, Nola, and Karen. As a medical professional, i know my people are being cared for even when we aren’t there.

Three years ago, I had to move my mom into assisted living due to her failing eyesight. She was uneasy, but Seniors of the Rockies (another excellent business) recommended New Day Cottages. From the moment I met Ginger, Community Relations Director for the house, to meeting Steve and Maura, I felt warmth and connection. I believed these people would genuinely care for my mom — which they did until her last breath. She was more to them than a person whose job it was to care for her; she was family. I write this shortly after my mom's passing with tears of gratitude for the staff and the love my mom received, including from the other residents. She loved them all dearly, and that speaks to the culture of caring community that they build and emphasize. Shortly before she went to be with Jesus, Ginger made sure my mom was included on their annual outing to see farm animals at Flying Horse. I loved that this moment was captured in photos that were sent to me of her delight at petting a donkey. I also loved the folks they brought in that were incredible and like extended family, including therapy dogs/owners, music, crafts, games, and others from the faith community to ensure residents could practice their beliefs. I don't have enough ways to thank all the folks at New Day for giving my mom such a quality final few years. You all are amazing!!!

I am giving 5 stars for the house staff. My Mom lived at New Day for 2 months before passing away. There were some bumps in the road, but the staff mostly took heart-centered care of my Mom, and I would recommend this home to others based on that. The issues I had were with the owner. When I met with him to sign the paperwork for my Mom to move there, he told me I had to sign a release for them to use her photo in their ads and on social media, even though I was adamantly opposed. He told me that some other families felt the same way I did but that he doesn’t “have time to figure out who agrees to the use of their picture” even though there are only a maximum of 11 residents in the home. I feel this policy shows a lack of respect for resident & family rights. Also, her rent went up $1200 in one month with no notice to me. When I spoke with him about it, he said I should have known it was going up because her care needs had increased. I did know her care needs had increased because I was there almost every day but I did not know her rent would go up that much because no one told me. He then told me “it doesn’t matter because she won’t be here that long” because she was on hospice. He has an excellent staff but his own people skills, in my experience, are sorely lacking.

Our mom spent her final years living at New Day Cottages - Turner House. She had Alzheimer's and we were looking for more of a "home" like care facility where she could get the care she needed, without the feeling of a big care facility. Turner House was a great fit. Mom loved it from day one, loved the facility, loved the food, loved the activities, but most of all loved the people she lived with, and the people who took care of her. Maura, Bev, Jen, and others did an amazing job. We could not have asked for a better place for mom to live and spend her final years. The staff there also was always very accommodating to our family to ensure we always knew what was going on, and made sure we could see our mom when we needed to. Maura, you do an absolutely amazing job! Thank You!

Steve, Ginger and the rest of New Day Cottage's staff are caring, supportive and attentive. Since moving to New Day Cottages last year, my mother's health has improved, she has found new friends, and having a place to call home had been a tremendous blessing!
