My Place Residential Care

My Place Residential Care is an assisted living facility located in Festus, Missouri, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The community provides a home-like environment where residents receive 24/7 staffing support and personal care services including bathing, grooming, hair care, and assistance with managing finances and medical appointments.

The facility offers three meals daily with snacks, medication administration, and transportation to doctor appointments and community activities. Staff encourage residents to participate in outdoor recreation using newly added patio areas with gazebos, and residents have frequent opportunities to engage in community activities with staffing and transportation provided. The community partners with Next Step for Life for leisure services including movie nights, dinners out, Special Olympics sports, and dances.

An activity coordinator organizes and transports residents to events such as holiday parties, magic shows, Cardinals and Blues games, swimming, petting zoos, and barbecues. Many residents work at JSI, the local Sheltered Workshop, while others have found community employment through Vocational Rehabilitation. All services are covered under a single fee arrangement that includes cable in bedrooms, personal care products, and transportation.

My Place Residential Care opened in 2001 and features a large fenced-in patio with a deck, gazebo, basketball goal, and activity areas. The community was founded on a mission to provide a safe, home-like environment where residents feel accepted and appreciated, with staff dedicated to helping individuals reach their full potential.
