We feel very fortunate to have found MLE. My mom is very happy there. The staff is very attentive to the residents. They put a lot of effort into offering entertainment and activities for the residents. The daily menu offerings seem like the kitchen staff puts a lot of care and effort into creating something enjoyable every single day! My four star review is for a couple reasons. MLE does not offer any kind of dietary restriction food options. (Update at bottom of my review) Many elderly folks are diabetic, yet there are no sugar free options, despite residents expressing the need for diabetic friendly options. This is just a matter of health for elderly people, whereas it seems like MLE focuses on enjoyable and decadent food offerings, which I understand. I do think many residents would appreciate a sugar free dessert option, at least- something simple like that would go a long way and be helpful to residents’ wellbeing. Secondly, on a couple of severe weather event occasions (snow storm and nearby wildfire), residents were left on their own, with no way to contact the administrative staff. A frozen pipe burst by the roof of the four story building and flooded units in the building, for two days, because maintenance/ administration could not be reached. Apparently the residents are entirely on their own during emergencies. That is often an issue in senior facilities during evacuation scenarios, but there’s no excuse for allowing water to flood a building because management can’t be reached on the phone during the weekend. Someone should guaranteed be reachable, 24/7, as is the standard expectation in all apartments. But this is especially important for seniors! Too many things can go wrong to leave a building of elderly folks all alone, to fend for themselves. I hope they will not allow this to happen again. Overall, I think Mountain Lakes Estates is a great senior living place, and we are grateful for it.

*Editing to add that MLE has hired a new chef, and they are offering healthier food options, including some sugar free desserts. My mom is happier and healthier now. Thank you!!

Be Careful. My friend lives here and he has had things stolen on more than one occasion. Most recently $5000 worth of hearing aids. The police found some of the stolen items in another resident's room. Management knows what is going on but continues to allow the habitual thief to live there.

Do not at all costs live here my poor good friend has been dealing with elderly abuse, harassment and much more he is autistic and has other disabilities they have harassed and lied to him and he has been hospitalized due to the poor way they treat their tenants. He is in the process of sueing they had 3 people pass away in 1 week due to poor management please keep your elderly family far away as they treat them so poorly
