In 2019, I had a someone very close to me served as power of attorney for a resident at Mount Ayr Health Care Center who is now deceased. When that resident’s funds were depleted, the facility shifted blame onto him — leading to a criminal conviction that devastated my whole family. In my opinion, I do believe this was a calculated move to deflect financial liability and to put all the blame on one of my parents, not an honest pursuit of justice. My parents lost their home, their savings, and my father’s health declined severely as a result of the Manager's and his parent's actions. The emotional and financial damage is permanent. I contacted General Manager (whose parents own the facility) to have a conversation about this. He initially agreed to meet, then backed out. Multiple follow-ups were ignored. When I finally reached him by phone, he claimed my emails went to junk and he didn't see them. That speaks volumes on how a General Manager and his parents run a business. I’ve posted honest reviews in the past — they’ve mysteriously disappeared. If they’re deleting reviews, what else are they covering up? Before you entrust this place with someone you love, ask the difficult questions. Ask how they treat families when things get complicated. And ask who’s held accountable — because in our case, it wasn’t them. I can confidently say I do not recommend this place.

This is the best nursing home in Mt Ayr. It’s beautiful and cheerful, and they do so many activities with their residents. They take excellent care of their patients hair and nails. If you’re looking for a place to care for your loved one, choose this one.

I love this facility. They take great care of their residents and all the staff is ery loving. It's great that it is family owned and ran. My grandmother lives at the Center and I know she enjoys and loves all her "girls" :)
