I have two different home health nurses One for occupational and one for physical therapy and they’re both really nice. They both listen they care about my well-being and they’re great with my kids. Best experience I’ve ever had.

If you are considering hospice services with Mercy Health Home Care by Compassus, please look elsewhere! Since Compassus took over management, the care is disorganized and very poorly run. We spent three months hoping the care for my father-in-law would get better. We would call with an emergency situation and no one would call back or come until 6-8 hours later. The nursing turnover is incredible, mostly contract nurses and a different nurse every visit. We were told multiple times that a manager would be calling back and never once received a call from anyone in leadership. Labs were lost, we never knew when a nurse was coming, and the final straw was going 10 days with absolutely no hospice visits or calls, which doesn't even meet the Medicare hospice standard of care. Please note, the hospice physicians and staff who are actually Mercy Health employees are exceptional and very caring. Unfortunately, they are trying to make the best of a very poorly managed system under Compassus. Hopefully Mercy Health will terminate this contract soon and bring back the excellent standard of hospice care that they were once known for. Our loved ones deserve better.

Everyone was great that came to the house. They all seemed to care about my Improvement. And we had very good talks about what I should do to help my situation.

If you are looking to bring a loved one home after a stroke, this company is not recommended. I called the day of discharge to get things set up, and it took four days for the nurse to show up for the assessment. Another two days for the physical therapist to show up for an assessment. The first day the aide was scheduled she did not show up. When we called they said we were not on the schedule. At that point I started working on getting my husband in to assisted living where I knew his care would be taken seriously, and physical therapy would be timely. There was a lapse of eleven days after hospital discharge with no therapy due to the lack of urgency on Mercy Compassus's part. This is unacceptable! Time is of the essence after a stroke. Get your loved ones the care they deserve.
