You reach out to a home agency for help and assistance, not to add headache and stress—which is all we received from this agency. They have shown repeated negligence and disorganization. We experienced multiple last-minute cancellations (sometimes without any caregiver being informed), we were forced to take a specific number of caregiver hours per week even though the insurance clearly stated that our hours are monthly and can be used any week as needed—my work schedule changes and based on that a caregiver is required, and sometimes hours cannot be forced if we are out of town during a specific month. In addition, we were pressured to accept nursing services we had already declined. They also made my husband sign forms with unchecked options and never gave us copies, leaving them free to add any services without our consent. Their physical therapist was unprepared, unqualified, and unprofessional; her whole concern during the first visit was to know my husband’s work before his condition and not just my work but even my title! She failed to provide proper care or an individualized plan. A home care agency should prioritize compassion and professionalism, but unfortunately, this agency has failed on all counts. Instead, this agency prioritizes business that is done in an unprofessional manner. I strongly advise families to look elsewhere for reliable, respectful, and competent care.
