Mixed feelings on mom’s care and facility. My mom was at this place for 8 months. She passed away and it was the most sad and uncaring experience I could’ve ever imagined could happen in an assisted living. My poor mom. The staff that day was overworked but also not attentive to my mom. Administrative staff not easy to work with. This place needs to train and educate. Simple..Train and educate. Comparing McFarland Villa to other facilities I would say it’s a typical care facility being short staffed and a variety of workers from good and caring to workers who DEFINITELY should not be caring for seniors. Cameras SHOULD be installed in ALL common areas! Also at each door coming into building exterior and interior. There’s a lot of weird things going on. I believe night caregivers have their friends coming and hanging out in the living room area. I was going to install a camera in my mom’s apt but didn’t get to unfortunately.<br>The meals are NOT balanced.<br>The activities are hit or miss. Usually no activities available. Some seniors have told me it used to be ok years ago with activities but not now. There should be music art movies tea parties speakers etc.. easy to figure out.<br>Cleaning ok but not great. Exterior of building is uninviting. Porch area is always dirty.<br>They have a patio with a stand up garden but not maintained unless family of residents plant stuff and maintain.<br>I feel like our senior moms and dads deserve to be cared for and loved. “Caregivers are people who we hope are good humans and loving” that’s it.

Very friendly and attentive staff! They provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment for my father and he feels very comfortable there. All of his needs are being met and all of the staff are great about assisting with all of our different needs as they care for him. This has been an excellent fit for my father and one I can feel very comfortable knowing he is getting his needs met in a very home-like environment!

I have been very happy with the care that my father is getting at McFarland Villa. The staff and administrators, who have worked there for years, are always helpful and patient. There probably could be more people on staff but, like everywhere, finding good people is a challenge. Thank you everyone at McFarland Villa for all your hard work and dedication!
