My relative who stays at MdS has a wonderful time! She's able to socialize when she wants to, but escape to a quiet corner of she didn't want to be bothered. The accommodations are lovely, not furnished but a good size for a single person or a couple. The staff are super friendly and helpful! They also have a rehabilitation center right on site! They have all sorts of classes, including Tai Chi. They have a very nice dining hall and very good food to boot. I would highly recommend MdS to any senior who is still wanting flexibility and independence.

I had a bad fall and spent most of May 2025 in the Rehab section. The physical therapists are excellent. You get therapy M-F. The food is very good, even for diabetics. There are activities, Bible Study, Bingo and movies to name a few, to participate in every day, if you wish. The nursing staff is excellent as were the aides helping you either by day or night. People were kind (some were impatient), helpful, knowledgeable and caring. Definitely recommend them!!

I moved into Manzano del Sol just a few months ago. I am really liking being here! My neighbors are friendly and helpful. The staff too has been very accommodating, helping to set up internet and printers and doing whatever is needed to make my entry into this place easy. I like the location in the city - fairly close to the freeways, and an intersection that allows easy access to the rest of the city and neighborhood. A supermarket and hardware store are just around the corner, and you can easily walk to them too. The apartments and rooms are a decent size, with nice light, and in my case, a view to the magnificent mountain to the east. There is an amazing collection of interesting people in the building and down the hall with remarkable life stories if you ask. I like having a covered parking space. I use the exercise room frequently and having access to a hot tub and indoor pool. Everyone just seems to be so caring and friendly, all the staff, from the maintenance people, the front desk, the dining room, to the office staff. Many of them have worked here for years, which speaks well of how they are treated - and so they treat us residents with great kindness and respect. I am still enjoying independent living, but I am also investing in a future that will be filled with my new friends and familiar surroundings when I am less out in the world. Moving from Washington DC and big city life, this was a nice transition. Get over your reluctance - and get on the list to move in! Do something that will bring you pleasure and peace of mind for years to come! Michael G.

When I moved to Manzano del Sol, I instantly knew I had joined a community of caring staff and residents. My apartment is specious and well maintained. It has an ample kitchen so I can prepare most of my own meals. I don’t know of any other senior living facility in Albuquerque where the cost of meals is optional. I am impressed by the longevity of so many of the staff, which tells me that they feel valued. I have many opportunities to participate in wellness programs to enable me to maintain my health and the activities director plans a menu of varied activities that we can participate in. I feel that I am home.
