About Lutheran Life Villages - The Village at Inverness

North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes

Licensed Memory Care Assisted Living in Fort Wayne, IN

Located in Fort Wayne, Indiana, North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes offers award-winning Memory Care Assisted Living services to the people of Allen County through its signature "NEW DIRECTIONS"program.

It all starts with the resident's life story

Each relationship we have with a resident at North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes begins with his or her life story. Quite simply, we get to know our residents. We talk with families, ask questions and learn about each individual's life. Most importantly, we listen. We learn about the family, the resident's profession, passions, interests. What they loved to do, what inspired them, fulfilled them and made them happy. We carry that information in our heads and in our hearts, and that knowledge shapes everything we do for that resident.

Knowing such personal information, we are able to tailor our engaging programming to each person\'s individual tastes, interests and abilities. As a result, our residents now participate in favorite hobbies, pastimes and other pursuits that are not only pleasurable, but also provide them with fulfillment, self-confidence and pride.

As an example, if one of our residents loved to cook, we will develop and implement cooking activities. If another individual enjoyed bird watching, we will offer a bird watching activity. Again, these specialized programs will be designed to promote success, emphasizing each individual's strengths and abilities and fostering a sense of accomplishment.

"NEW DIRECTIONS" Offered Exclusively at North Woods Village

Each person receives the appropriate level of support he or she needs to live as independently as possible.

Experienced, Compassionate Staff Trained in Memory Support

We can have the most forward-thinking, progressive programs in the world, but unless we have the right people to implement those programs, they mean nothing. At North Woods Village at Inverness Lakes, we know that our staff is essential to delivering the care, the quality and the dignity our residents deserve. I recently moved my mom from a different facility to LLV. She had been neglected at the old facility and it was a terrible experience. She has now been at LLV for a month and the difference in her is like night and day. She is no longer just sitting in a wheelchair all by herself all day. She is now involved in daily activities, she doesn't seem depressed anymore, she is happy and she is always smiling. The staff are all so kind and caring, from the director on down. They truly care about their residents and it shows on all of residents' faces. They treat the families just as well. I truly feel like we walked out of hell and into heaven. My only regret is I didnt move my mom sooner.

My Mom is currently a resident and our family is VERY pleased with the care she is receiving. Is it perfect, no but it is 99% amazing! I would not hesitate to check the facility out if you are in need of quality memory care.

This facility, Lutheran Life Villages at Inverness (Memory Care) has staff that are truly respectful of folks who have dementia, they are patient, kind, compassionate, and loving. They use humor when appropriate and treat our family members/loved ones with such humanity. My father died on December 1st and the last week of his life was filled with such love from this facility staff! From the administrator and DON, ADON, to all of the nurses, QMA's and Aides, to laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, and dietary. This staff is amazing! Thank you! We would recommend this facility to anyone!

I highly recommend The Village at Inverness. The administrator and the staff are helpful, patient, kind, and compassionate. They cared well for my mother-in-law for 20 months before her passing earlier this month, and kept us informed of her needs. They provided varied and engaging activities, as well as Lutheran and Catholic religious services each week. My family is very thankful to to have discovered and selected such an outstanding home for our loved one!
