The Grounds are nice. But the inside is not so great. My Aunt is here and they havent come in her room for 2 days to clean nor empty the trash. The bathroom floor is disgusting. The pictures don't really show how bad it is. Noone knows we are here and Noone has come in to check to see if she is ok if she needs anything. She is in a wheelchair with a broken knee and femur. The Aids on the East side are very unpleasant. They act as if your bothering them. Her floor is gross its sticky. She has to ask for her bed to be changed. However her night aid is nothing short of fabulous. He is just a delight. And he has put in a request for things on her behalf and still nothing.

I am so fortunate to have my mom as a resident at Liberty Commons. She and my dad have both been rehab patients over the last few years and now Mom has transitioned to long-term care. I can speak to both sides of care at the facility. Whether it was from the aides, the nurses, the rehab team, the social workers, the Activities team or the Admissions Director, the support, care, and love for my mom has been exceptional. I often say that I feel like Liberty is not just a home for my mom, but for me, too, because I have gotten to know the staff so well. My mom’s team meets often to review her care plan and support her with issues that come up, but also keeps family updated and included in decision making. The holiday celebrations and special events that are planned are outstanding. Thanksgiving this past year felt like being at a top restaurant in Chatham! There are many activities offered to residents. I’m even part of a book club with a small group of ladies which is a fun way to participate with my mom. If you are looking for a facility for short-term rehab or long-term care for your loved ones, Liberty Commons needs to be #1 on your list. Kathy Brooks

I did my nursing clinical in Oyster Pond at Liberty Commons Oct-Dec. It is a great facility. While I was there, I saw only positive interactions between the staff and the residents. They take great care of them there. I was happy to find there was not one pressure injury in the whole place and they were treated with dignity and respect. I definitely recommend!

My mother was a patient Liberty in the rehab for about three weeks and she was so stubborn about going and then found herself crying thanking the staff when it was time to leave. Liberty was an amazing choice for care. The staff was so calm and low key. My mother felt loved and cared for. The food she barely complained about… touch to beat home cooking but she enjoyed the meals. We now have a family friend staying and he’s so happy. He told his wife don’t worry about me I’m fine right here. We can’t say enough enough the facility and all their staff.❤️

My family member stayed at this skilled rehab facility, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. The nurses and CNAs were genuinely kind, patient, and skilled. They treated my family member with respect and compassion, and their care was the strongest part of the stay. Unfortunately, the administration was very disappointing. Communication was poor throughout, and there was a noticeable lack of empathy when concerns were raised. Getting clear answers or updates was difficult, and it often felt like families were not a priority. Response time to patient needs was often slow, likely due to understaffing. Call lights frequently went unanswered for long periods, which was frustrating and concerning. Communication between staff was disorganized, and this also affected communication with me as a family member. The facility itself is outdated and did not feel clean, which was unacceptable for a rehab setting. Overall, while the direct care staff deserves recognition for their kindness and hard work, the administration, cleanliness, staffing, and communication need serious improvement to provide a better experience for patients and families.
