If I could leave 0 stars, I absolutely would. Avoid this hospital like your entire life, health, and well-being depend on it. I have been requesting neurology clearance for a month now from Dr. Kumar in which he has refused to provide me the correct documentation which has caused the clinic to cancel my surgery; imagine flying out to where you are supposed to have surgery because you were told everything is good to go and that the neurology letter was sent in, only to be denied due to needing additional clearance because he worded the letter as if I am not his primary patient & then they denied the additional clearance. Everyone on my medical team has failed me. I have lost money, time, and have been dealing with additional stress which has caused migraine flair ups from my condition. All I asked for was a new neurology clearance letter from my neurologist, Dr. Kumar that only needs to state two sentences; it has been the only thing preventing me from rescheduling my surgery. It has been absolutely insane after the endless calls, fax, emails to the patient advocate via talking with Sam, the patient portal, and sending a message via Facebook that my issue is still not resolved. This place has reinstated my belief that the medical system does not care about you; you are simply a number, and in my case medical racism is very prevalent. I was also promised a call from either the director or clinic manager, but that did not happen either. Take it from me and others that have been put in worst positions due to negligence, unprofessional, and carelessness, do not become a patient here; my heart goes out to those dealing with medical conditions more complicated, I can only imagine after this life altering, emotional experience I have underwent on top of my own condition.
I had an uncomfortable experience with Dr. Leslie Underwood at Lawrence OB/GYN. During two separate vaginal exams, she exclaimed 'that's really bad' both times, which was alarming, and notes from the first exam weren't documented, which led to the second vaginal examination, where she apologized for not taking notes after the exam. When I requested a jury duty note due to incontinence issues I am experiencing before a hysterectomy, she refused, calling it elective. After I contacted the patient advocate and raised concerns (including about a prior lawsuit involving her), I was dismissed from the practice. I felt retaliated against for having concerns, and my concerns weren't taken seriously. I included the calendar that greeted me before my second exam with Dr. Underwood, which was embarrassing before the exam, along with the federal lawsuit filed against her in 2020 for medical malpractice during labor and delivery. It looks like LMH settled. Would not recommend. 0/5
Oofff.... I see the reviews are going down. Unfortunate, but now I see it. I missed an appointment 6 years ago at the obgyn. Then I missed 2 postpartum appointments. Recieved a call stating they had to figure out if I could continue to use their services. I told them I didnt want their services anymore if 3 mistakes over 6 years was what it took to decide if I deserve medical care at your facility or not. Gonna end this review here, my 8 month old has been throwing up all morning. Dr. Kracht at the OBGYN gets 5 STARS. WHAT A WONDERFUL OB, I love him and will miss him dearly.
What once was a showcase in healthcare for the Lawrence and Douglas County Communities under the leadership of Gene Meyer, current leadership has allowed to self implode to current state of disaster LMH Health is. How the Board of Trustees has been so blind to see a mass exodus of amazing physicians in recent years and not ponder “why?”’is beyond me.
I recently was a patient in the ED. My physician saw me by longing glances as he passed through the department, and only coming to my room, or hallway placement to shake my hand momentarily. It was busy, so I didn’t fret much. The nursing and tech staff were very helpful and timely with labs and procedures. But I was confused because I was getting testing and expensive procedures for symptoms, I did not come to the ER for. What really upset me, was when I stopped a nurse from giving me an IV medication, for a symptom I was not experiencing nor had reported experiencing. When it was time to be discharged the physician, diagnosed me with something that was not emergent and what didn’t even bring me in, nor had I complained about- and my original complaint was never addressed. This was all while reporting this to me in my hallway “room” shared with 3 other patients and families, and within earshot of 6 other rooms and the busy nurses desk. No regard to HIPPA privacy.
I left feeling like I had wasted everyone’s time and money. That my health concerns were not taken seriously and this was absolutely validated when reading the clinic notes, where the doctor referrs to me through out as “obese 44 year old with general anxiety,” and even stating my anxiety contributed to my presentation.
Now, not all of LMH is bad. There are phenomenal physicians, clinics, nurses, and the nurses and techs today were great. But I would have NEVER been treated like this by previous ER Docs.
Late Christmas Eve/early Christmas morning, around 1:30am, my daughter and I arrived at the emergency doors of LMH. The security guard was very nice, the triage/intake nurses were friendly and helpful and the doctor and room nurses put us at ease. They got us in, tested, diagnosed, script written and back out into our foggy Christmas morning by 4am. I was worried we'd be there all day, waiting on a room or something but they kept everything moving, made us aware of the process and kept us calm and at ease. It was a wonderful experience, despite our unfortunate circumstances and horrible timing! Five stars every time. I've had all 3 of my babies at LMH and can't say enough good things about this place.
I passed out after having my IUD replaced years ago during COVID and the last thing I saw before everything went sparkly, was a nurse quickly walking towards me, taking her gloves off and reaching out to grab my hand. This was the bad part of COVID where touching another human, skin to skin, was unheard of. But it's exactly what I needed 💕 Okay that's all! My daughter is feeling a little better already so thank you all!! I hope you all got to be with your families that morning =) You're truly angels. Thank you for being open 24/7!!
