My mother is a resident here. She gets visits several times per week from my brother. The residents were allowed to sit outside and enjoy people passing by and just enjoy the sunshine. They were recently told they are not allowed to do that any longer. They now have to sit in the back where there is nothing to see and no one passing by. She said she feels like they are hiding them or they are like prisoners. I believe there could be a designated place in the front for the residents to sit and enjoy being outside and enjoy what they see. This allows them to feel like they are still alive. I hope this post reaches someone who can facilitate change.

When mom first went into Lakepoint it was a wonderful facility. That was 13 years ago. First in Independent and later in Assisted. Things took a big change a few months ago. Our biggest complaint was when the director of assisted living told mom that she needed to socialize. Mom was mostly deaf and could barely see. She also suffered with extreme dizzy spells. They quit bringing her trays and she was told to go get it in the dining room. She was 97 years old and totally with it. Very sweet and liked by all. We Could not recommend Lakepoint Wichita on West street at all. The lpn's were good. Just office management and owners. Very limited staff.

My sister and her husband are both residents here. I couldn’t ask for a better place for them to call home. The staff is always busy taking care of people, the facility is always clean as are the residents which is a testament to the care the nursing staff and the care they provide to the residents. I have not personally had the food but my sister and her husband love the meals and the options they get if the daily special isn’t something they want. They offer a short order type option at all meals. This is an important part of the LTC options for residents. This gives the residents a sense of control over an aspect of their lives. Now onto the activities and the director. They are always having amazing activities. They have karaoke , I’ve seen water balloon fights, bingo, and a resident choir. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who is looking for a loving place for a family member.
