My husband lived at Lakemont Senior Living for about a year. Ligia and her staff were great and very responsive to his needs and to our needs as a married couple. I was able to spend time alone with him and it has meant a lot to me, especially after he passed away. I treasure that time that he spent at Lakemont and there were many special and precious moments for us.<br>When my husband arrived at Lakemont, he had to use a wheelchair and then progressed to a walker and then he was able to walk alone. The Lakemont staff worked with Chris and the physical therapist to increase his mobility. We were able to enjoy many walks outside in the neighborhood during the late spring and summer.<br>Ligia and the Lakemont staff encourage us to celebrate his birthday, my birthday, and our anniversary as well as Valentine’s Day and of course Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. I was allowed to bring a meal from our favorite restaurant, and we ate in his private room.<br>My husband was a nurse practitioner, and he continued to think that he “was seeing patients” - due to lack of memory/hallucinations that occur with Lewy Body Dementia. We were able to set up a “worktable” for him in his private room, so he could see patients and write clinical notes.<br>Also, I appreciate Ligia’s insight into the progression of this dementia, and she provided me with an understanding of how to communicate and love my husband through this disease.<br>My husband rapidly declined in late September and my son had just proposed to his partner in mid-August but due to his father’s health decided to get married quickly. Ligia and her staff made it possible for my husband to participate. They got him dressed in the special clothes I provided and then arranged a medical transport to the church. My family has special memories from that wedding day.<br>He passed away after a very quick decline with battling Lewy Body Dementia. His rapid decline was shocking, and I truly appreciated the expert nursing and emotional care that Ligia and her staff provided.

My mom lived at Lakemont Senior Living for just under two years, and I truly can’t express how grateful I am for the care she received. Before moving in, she had been in a well-regarded assisted living community, but we noticed she was no longer engaging with the services and spending most of her time alone in her room. Although we were paying for additional support, she often declined care, and as a result, her basic needs were frequently overlooked. It was clear she needed a different kind of environment—one where she wouldn’t fall through the cracks.<br><br>The transition to Ligia’s home was night and day. From the very beginning, she was consistently well cared for, clean, in fresh clothes, and supported by a thoughtful routine. While she wasn’t social with other residents, the team respected her preferences and always treated her with warmth and dignity. I was finally able to breathe easy knowing she was being cared for with integrity and compassion.<br><br>Ligia and her team are exceptional. They supported us through some of the most challenging parts of my mom’s journey, especially near the end of her life when she went on hospice. The hospice team regularly commented on how attentive and engaged the caregivers were, and how well my mom was looked after.<br><br>Caring for a loved one at the end of life is incredibly difficult, but Ligia and her team made an unbearable situation manageable. I will be forever grateful for their kindness, expertise, and truly top-notch care.<br><br>If you're unsure about a group home environment, I highly recommend evaluating it as an option. The small setting, consistent caregivers, and low resident-to-staff ratio make it an excellent choice for those who need more dedicated, personalized care.

I've had the pleasure of working with Ligia for over a year and a half and coming to her own adult family home for over a year. Ligia is one of most compassionate, caring and thoughtful homeowners I work with. Your family member is in wonderful hands here. I am always impressed with her excellent assessment skills, judgement and detailed feedback. She and her staff are some of the best when it comes to working with older adults with dementia and I have worked with many throughout my career. This was the worst experience of my life. Lygia is the owner and a horrible person. She tried to keep my father there against his will, and put him in harms way to try to prove a point. The staff was careless. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
