After suffering a bad fall, I was admitted here for rehabilitation, and if I’m being honest, I was terrified. I had stayed in another rehab facility years ago where I didn’t have a good experience. Going into this facility, I was expecting more of the same. To my surprise, I was greeted with kindness from the very beginning.
One thing that immediately stood out to me was that both Jefferson, the Director of Nursing, and Alejandro, the facility administrator, personally came to introduce themselves. They welcomed me, asked how I was feeling, and told me if there was anything they could do to make my stay feel more like home, all I had to do was let them know. I had never experienced that before. It may seem like a small gesture, but it made me feel like I wasn’t just another room number. I was a person. Looking back now, they kept that promise because by the time I was discharged, this place truly did feel like home.

The positive atmosphere here is something you notice every single day. Staff members smile when they pass by, greet you by name, and always seem happy to help. It creates an environment where healing feels possible.

I was also amazed by how clean everything was. Every hallway, every dining area, every patient room. I honestly don’t know how they managed to keep it looking so spotless all day long. At another facility I had been to in the past, the hallways often felt cluttered, and the rooms didn’t always feel as clean as they should have. Here, I constantly saw housekeeping and the nursing staff taking pride in their work, and it gave me so much confidence that they cared about every detail of the patient experience.

The therapy team deserves so much credit. There were mornings when I didn’t think I’d be able to make it through my therapy session because I was sore and discouraged after my fall. One therapist noticed I was becoming frustrated and reminded me to stop focusing on where I used to be and instead look at how far I had already come. They showed me that I was doing things that I couldn’t do just a week earlier. That change in perspective completely lifted my spirits, and before I knew it, I was accomplishing goals I never thought I’d reach. They don’t just help you recover physically, they help you believe in yourself again.

The nurses and CNAs were wonderful. They were attentive without ever making me feel like I was bothering them. If I needed help getting settled, had a question, or simply wanted someone to explain something, they always took the time to help with patience and kindness. They consistently treated me with dignity, and that meant more than they probably realize.

One of my favorite parts of staying here was how much effort they put into making life enjoyable outside of therapy. The activity staff (Ms. Yaya and Belen) did such a beautiful job decorating the activity room for appreciation days and special events. We’d dress up, gather together, watch movies, enjoy fresh popcorn, homemade cookies, and refreshing drinks, and spend time laughing with one another. Those afternoons gave us something to look forward to and reminded us that recovery isn’t just about getting stronger, it’s also about finding joy again.

Thank you to Jefferson, Alejandro, the incredible therapy team, the nurses, CNAs, housekeeping, and everyone who helped make my recovery such a positive experience. After my previous experiences elsewhere, I never imagined I would leave a rehabilitation facility feeling grateful but that’s exactly how I feel. I will always remember the kindness I received here, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this facility to my friends and family or anyone who wants exceptional care.
I honestly didn't know what to expect when I was admitted here for rehabilitation, but looking back now, I can say this facility played a huge role in helping me get my life back.
One person who truly made a lasting impact on me was Ashley from Occupational Therapy. There was one morning where I was having a really hard time. I had been trying to complete a task that used to be second nature, but I kept struggling and eventually said, "I don't think I can do this today." Instead of moving on or making me feel embarrassed, Ashley simply smiled and said, "That's okay. Let's figure it out together." She found a different way to teach me, encouraged me every step of the way, and never once made me feel like I was failing. By the end of the session, I had done something I honestly didn't think I was capable of doing.
She celebrated that moment with me, and I walked back to my room feeling more confident than I had in weeks. Ashley has a way of making people believe in themselves, and that's something you can't teach.
The nursing staff and CNAs were just as incredible. One evening I wasn't feeling like myself and had barely touched my dinner. A CNA noticed right away and came back a little later just to check on me. She asked if I was okay, offered to warm up my meal, she brought me a different drink because she remembered I didn't like the first one, and a delicious turkey sandwhich. She stayed to chat with me for a few minutes. It wasn't something she had to do, but she did it anyway. Those little acts of kindness made me feel like I wasn't alone during a really difficult time.
Another thing that stood out was how clean this facility is. Every day I saw the housekeeping team working hard to keep everything spotless. My room was always clean, the hallways were immaculate, and the entire building felt fresh and well cared for. It gave me so much confidence knowing they took cleanliness as seriously as they did patient care.
The food was also much better than I expected. There were several meals I genuinely looked forward to, and it was nice having options that actually tasted homemade.
Recovering is never easy, but the people here made it feel possible. Thank you to the amazing therapy department, the nurses, CNAs, housekeeping, dietary staff, and everyone else who helped me along the way. You didn't just help me recover, you helped me regain my confidence, my independence, and my hope. I will always be grateful for everything you did Lakepark !!
When my father in law was admitted for rehabilitation, our family hoped he would regain his strength but what we never expected was to leave feeling so grateful for the people who cared for him.
One of my favorite memories happened during one of our visits. We walked into the therapy gym just as he was finishing a session. He looked tired and was ready to stop, but his therapist smiled and said, "Let's see if you can make it to that doorway." He made it... then a little farther... and before any of us realized it, he had walked almost the entire length of the hallway. The therapists celebrated with him as if he had won a marathon. Seeing how genuinely proud they were of him brought tears to our eyes. That moment gave him confidence that stayed with him for the rest of his recovery.
What touched us just as much was the compassion from the nurses and CNAs. One evening, we arrived a little later than usual and found one of the CNAs sitting with my father in law while he finished his dinner. She wasn't just doing her job, she was talking with him, making him laugh, and patiently encouraging him to eat because he hadn't had much of an appetite that day. Before leaving the room, she made sure his blanket was adjusted, his call light was within reach, and asked if there was anything else she could do before wishing him a good night. It was such a simple moment, but it spoke volumes about the kind of people who work here. Those small acts of kindness meant everything to our family.
The facility itself is absolutely beautiful. Every area we visited was spotless, well kept, and welcoming. It never had the feel of a typical rehab center. Instead, it felt peaceful, comfortable, and full of positive energy.
He also enjoyed participating in activities whenever he felt up to it, and he often mentioned how much he liked the food, which honestly surprised us in the best way!
Thank you to the incredible therapists, nurses, CNAs, and every staff member who played a part in his recovery. You didn't just help him heal physically you reminded him that he wasn't facing this journey alone. If someone I loved ever needed rehabilitation again, I would choose this facility again without hesitation.
When my mom was discharged from the hospital after having a bad fall that left her weak and unable to walk independently, we were nervous about where she would continue her recovery. Looking back, choosing this rehabilitation center was one of the best decisions we could have made.
The therapy/rehab department is truly the heart of this place. The therapists knew exactly how to push my mom without overwhelming her. I remember one day she called me so excited because she had walked farther than she thought she ever could again. They celebrated her accomplishments right alongside her, and that encouragement made all the difference.
The nurses and CNAs were beyond caring.
They never made her feel like she was "just another patient." They always greeted her with a smile, checked on her often, and made sure she was comfortable before leaving the room. Every staff member we met genuinely seemed to love what they do.
The building is immaculate, the common areas are beautiful, and it feels more like a welcoming community than a rehab center. The food was also surprisingly good. My mom actually looked forward to mealtimes! Thank you Lakepark 🩵 for helping her get back on her feet.
My family and I will always be grateful to the incredible team at this rehab facility for the exceptional care they gave my grandma after her knee replacement surgery. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how beautiful, spotless, and welcoming the facility is. It truly doesn't feel like a typical nursing or rehab center it feels warm, comfortable, and genuinely inviting.
The rehabilitation therapy team was absolutely amazing. Their patience, encouragement, and positive attitudes motivated my grandma every step of her recovery. They celebrated every little milestone with her and gave her the confidence she needed to heal and regain her strength.
The CNAs and nurses are truly angels. They cared for my grandma as if she were their own family always checking to make sure she was comfortable, never rushing her, and treating her with so much kindness, dignity, and compassion. It gave our family so much peace of mind knowing she was in such loving hands.
One of the things that really stood out was how much they focus on keeping their residents engaged and happy. They have an activities room where my grandma got to paint, make hand sculptures, enjoy themed movie days, and even attend ice cream socials on hot afternoons. They always found ways to bring joy to her day, and it made such a difference in her recovery.
There is so much more I could say about this wonderful team. Thank you to every therapist, CNA, nurse, and staff member for going above and beyond. You didn't just help my grandma recover, you made her feel loved, valued, and cared for every single day. We will never forget your kindness.❤️
