Came into emergency room for a kidney stone. My first time experiencing this. The way I was treated was absolutely horrific. The RN on staff forced a catheter in while I was begging her not to and that I did not want or need this done. I was yelled at, pushed and poked 4 times in each arm by 4 different nurses because of incompetence inserting an IV. No gloves were on and nothing was explained. The RN Jennifer, on staff was the angriest person I have met here and did not follow ethical guidelines. I left bruised, still in horrible pain and ended up with a UTI. I will stay home and not return here. It’s unfortunate Somerset has this only option of “care”.

If I could give this hospital zero stars I would. This is my first bad experience with this hospital however it is unacceptable. I took my mother in to ER two weeks ago for weakness, dizziness and hypotension. After registering at ER we sat in waiting room for around 1 hour. Then finally a nurse called my mom back and took her vital signs blood pressure 100/40 and got her history and everything and ordered labs and CT scans. They acted like it was livestock they call you in one room and send you back out to lobby. Finally after a couple hours they call my mom back and say they finally have a ER room available. The triage nurse attempts to hook the blood pressure cuff up to the machine and it will not read. She then throws the lines on the ground and says your nurse will be in. After around 1 hour of in that room a nurse comes in and says “I’m going to start your IV” my mom says I have to go to the bathroom and they stated “good I have to have a urine sample” they assist her to the bathroom and while that’s going on another nurse or whoever comes in and grabs the IV box and leaves. Another waiting time another nurse comes in and starts her IV then finally another one comes in and starts a bag of fluids. Remember the blood pressure lines are on the ground. After a short time a nurse comes in and says “I am going to take your IV out I have your discharge papers” I said a doctor hasn’t even been in and I said I think one needs to see her before we leave. Finally a doctor comes in and says “I am sorry it took so long I had two emergencies your labs look good and looks like you need some med changes” she leaves. Nobody ever rechecked her blood pressure or anything. Keep in mind I have a medical background and am not stupid. They send a copy of labs home so I am looking over them her WBC count was critical low, she had nutropenia, thrombocytopenia and multiple other things. They lied about her discharge blood pressure, and So fast foreword after a hospital stay at another hospital turns out my mom has MDS. This is absolutely unacceptable and we often wonder why people die! I understand emergencies happen and it takes time that’s not my point my point is take things seriously and don’t lie.

This has to be the worst ER in the country. Dr. Marvin and Dr. Durham in the ER are the only decent doctors there. My husband was brought in a few weeks ago for abdominal pain. He had had umbilical hernia surgery 3 years ago in a different state and had a mesh inserted. Dr Durham was very nice and understanding as well as Dr. Marvin in a past visit. My husband was screaming in pain begging for help and the nursing staff would just walk by. They finally came in and gave him something for the pain, which didn’t help. After almost 4 hours they gave him something that did help. His call light had been on for at least 10 minutes. They were completely rude! I would have to go to the nurses station to get them to do something anything. This morning he had to go in again for the same reason. The only time I ever saw Dr. Rogers was when he poked his head through the drapes and told my husband to keep it down or he couldn’t do anything. He was beyond rude just because my husband was screaming in pain. The nurses were completely incompetent and rude. After almost an hour they finally gave him something for pain which again didn’t help and hooked him up to the heart monitor. A very short time later the nurse came in and said he was going to be discharged. Still in an incredible amount of pain. Said they were not going to give him any thing else like narcotics, treating him as though that was the only reason he was there. I couldn’t believe she was actually saying that. We’re 5 hours at home now and he’s still in pain. Unbelievable is all I can say. We WILL NOT be coming back to this hospital again! The worst treatment ever!! God forbid if he was having a heart attack or stroke. I’d be planning a funeral.

I was recently hospitalized at LCRH on 3rd floor medical. The entire staff was very polite and professional. The nursing staff was so very caring and informative and loving. I never felt as if I was bothering someone when pushing button for help. I loved the welcome kits with personal hygiene items. I was very impressed with the food they served very delicious.! I’d recommend anyone to LCRH.

Excellent patient services on 2nd floor patient care unit day and night. Mom's. care was exceptional. Nurses Ashlee,Danielle,Aliicia,Amanda C., and Kentel .Aides were Linda,Stephanie,and Adrienne. EVS-cleaning Angela. I hope i have not forgotten anybody . Food services outstanding. Mom was in room 282 Sunday night through Wednesday. Thank you so much for an Exceptional team of Drs. at the E.R. ,ambulance service, Attending Dr.'s. and all who were involved at this time.
