This nursing home is horrible. The staff is fairly nice some have bad attitudes. That may be because the facility is trash. It needs cosmetic improvement. It looks like a prison instead of a home for these people. The interior is awfully drab. Nasty dirt in the corners everywhere I walked. My parent is always crying for a snack. Dinner is over by 6pm and these elderly people cannot sleep like they once did. They want snacks but are told no throughout the day too. Im sure the owner can afford some paint to make the drab used to be white walls look fresh. Color would help bring some love and happiness to the facility. THIS IS 🫠 SHAMEFUL

It's never easy to have to watch a parent or other close relative go to a nursing home/physical rehabilitation facility, but they made everything as headache-free as possible. My dad and my aunt have both stayed here. My dad was a resident of their skilled nursing program, and my aunt was a resident of their physical rehabilitation program. They did an excellent job taking care of my dad, who had advanced stage lung and bone cancer. They also did a great job of taking care of my aunt, for a few weeks, before she could return home after suffering from a stroke. Everyone working there really cares, and some have been employed there for decades. It truly felt like they became part of our family for a while. This place might look modest, but the staff does pay attention to every detail. I've worked for a nursing home whose facilities are more high-end, and I can assure you, the staff at Lacombe Nursing Centre are far more loving and considerate. They even do the laundry for their residents, so families do not have to worry about that. When my dad had to stay in the hospital for almost a week, due to complications stemming from his cancer treatments, the staff made his bed, kept his room clean, and put a fresh tray of food out for him on his bed everyday, at meal time, in case he returned and was hungry. (They would obviously not leave it there for too long for cleanliness reasons. It was just touch-and-go as to when he would return.) They also provide rides to and from all medical appointments for their residents. Also, I've never heard one staff member say anything negative about a resident to another staff member in the hallway, nurses station, or outside. They truly care about the dignity of their residents. That kind of professionalism is something you cannot put a price on. When my dad did not respond well to radiation therapy, and had to go into hospice care, the administrators made that process easy for our family, too. They even let me bring my dog, who my dad adored, to visit and sit with my dad in his bed. I am beyond grateful for everyone working there for everything they did for us. Thank you, truly, Lacombe Nursing Centre, for being there for my dad and our family. We will never forget the kindness you showed us all. 10/10! Ps. I did not see any roaches, and the facility was always clean. I visited my dad everyday while he was there, sometimes twice to three times a day. However, this is southeast Louisiana, and large roaches notoriously fall from trees in the summer. When I was a kid, my dad would always remind me to close the door behind me in the summer, because he used to manage a plant nursery, and it is almost impossible to keep those large roaches out of trees, and they love to sneak into houses via open doors and windows. Nevertheless, I never saw a roach in that building while my dad was there, and he never mentioned seeing any. My aunt did not see any, either, and she has zero complaints about the place. My aunt is a retired LPN and former spouse of a doctor, so she knows how clean a medical facility should be.

This Nursing Home Trys their best but their best was collecting a check to begin with. They don't pay employees fairly. CNAs and RNs that work here don't really pay attention to the patients. They just serve them meds from a cart night and day referencing a list. The housekeepers don't clean and sanitize the floors or bathrooms despite being able to clean and rediaper patients on bed rest as well as changing their bed Lenins. There's cameras but Noone is ever at the front desk. you just press the button and the door automatically dings upon letting you in. The same person watching the cameras that are placed to watch the halls and rooms are the same people with the med cart. No real profession ism. The staff freely dumps their personal problems on you at any moment. Patients are often neglected at meal time. Shoved in the halls in a wheelchair and forgotten. The laundry is done in timely manner. That's a plus especially when you does all you patients up so much with seraguel they frequently have Messed themselves/surroundings. The building is in a very accessible spot on 190 in Lacombe which may be a plus but their is no gate ,not much parking and I've seen roaches numerous times in my two weeks of coming here for family. Nursing homes are expensive. This one was cheap but not that cheap. I expected alot more for what I paid. Remember to do your research when selecting a nursing home for you loved ones and visit often.

My husband was in Lacombe Skilled Nursing for two weeks after emergency surgery. The facility is tired, but it is very clean. The staff members are considerate and kind to all. The administration is very helpful. The physical therapists and occupational therapists are very thorough. Everyone that works there wants to see the patients get better. They want to help their skilled nursing patients get home. I recommend this facility.
