BEWARE OF THE HIDDEN FEES!! They will not itemize the amounts and instead use it against you to evict. My uncle lived here for about a year and instead of letting him know he was behind in "fees" they evicted him and tried to collect. Turns out, the rent went up and my uncle was still "grandfathered" in per his agreement. So it was easier to evict him with "unpaid fees" and get a new tenant with a higher rent. They are a scam.

I leave my spacious suite, walk across lush flower-filled grounds, enter a gorgeous restaurant and have lunch with a famous playwright, a highly-regarded short story writer (I have him autograph a book he wrote I owned long before meeting him) a screenwriter with a long list of well-known titles in his IMDB, a performance artist who will have an exhibition later in the week at the Getty Museum, a former presidential speechwriter, and a lady whose husband owned one of the world's greatest classic car collections. We dine on prime rib, pistachio-encrusted salmon, asparagus, haricot-verts, Lyonnaise potatoes, a Cobb salad, white, red and rose wine, and choose from a selection of fantastic desserts. Have I just described leaving a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel and having a delicious "power lunch" in the Polo Lounge? No, I am describing a typical midday meal at Kingsley Manor! The only difference between the Beverly Hills Hotel and Kingsley Manor, Kingsley has a friendlier more capable staff ( the ladies in the administration building could run a major corporation, trust me) and more interesting guests. Simply the best!

Kingsley Manor has been beyond wonderful for my Mom! She had been at one of the large corporate retirement communities for a couple of years. While that experience was decent, it lacked the caring for the residents we hoped for. We then ran into a friend - Grant Edelstone - that had spent decades running senior facilities. Grant recommended Kingsley Manor and he put us in touch with Jean Weber. Jean has been beyond tremendous in every way! She set up a tour. We ate a surprisingly tasty and delicious lunch, and we dined with some residents. Based on the tour, Jean's excellent and kind guidance and the warmth of the facility, we immediately knew this was the place! We were also impressed that Jean and many other staff members have been there for decades - that was a good sign for us that they treat their staff well. Many facilities cannot keep their staff. Kingsley Manor is different which was a deciding factor. Jean made the whole moving in process easy including recommending reliable movers. My Mom has been there for 6 months now. We feel so grateful for Kingsley Manor, Jean Weber and the whole staff that Mom is in such a beautiful and caring home. Thank You so much! Heidi Wexler

The food here is very good! Great variety, delicious home made soups, excellent coffee, lovely atmosphere. I like that they have table clothes and linens for every meal. They have surprise events like live sushi stations in the dining room. The chef comes around to tables occasionally to introduce himself and receive feedback. It's not restaurant food, which would be too salty and heavy for every day eating, but it's really nice stuff. I'm at Kingsley 3-4 times a week as an independent assistant and if my mother lived in CA, I would send her here.
