My Father was assigned to King Rehab Houghton Lake after a hospital stay. Once it was determined he was not going to be able to return to his home safely we started looking for skilled nursing homes in an area more closely located to siblings and children. Dad required transportation 3 days a week for dialysis and this was provided with a caring and compassionate driver, Alyssa. I had occasion to meet dad at some of his appointments that he was taken to and meet and interface with Alyssa. What a Caring individual!! She kept me informed at all times concerning dad’s travel needs. Dad’s care during his rehabilitation made him confident in wanting to stay at kings for his care. We made arrangements for him to stay and the office staff helped with the transition. After a hiccup with his Medicaid application, the new admin Mindy stepped in and helped us get dad assigned as a permanent resident. Everyone I interfaced with for dad’s care was fantastic but a shining star was Jessica. On more than one instance she was directly involved with advocating for dads cares and needs and keeping me informed. She made sure dad had whatever he asked for to a T. When Dad passed I still found myself drawn to this facility to donate resident creature comforts and keep in touch with the Ladies that made his time there so special.

A few bad CNA'S that either don't do their job or stand around talking instead of helping other CNA'S when needed. Nursing is great but the administration is lacking. Corporate only cares about the money and not it's workers or patients.

From the facility to the staff, this is by far the best Nursing and Rehab facility. My husband received the care, compassion, respect and dignity that he deserved. Jessica noticed that my husband had some issues beyond the Rehab he was there for and she went above and beyond to make sure that the issues were addressed. The DON and the Asst. DON were amazing. Every staff member, from the RN's, LPN's,CNA's, Therapist, Dietitians (Dave said that every meal was very good), Laundry, Scheduling, and Activity director were amazing. The facility is very clean. The Lakeroom is very inviting and relaxing. I don't have any idea what the negative reviews are about. My husband was there for nearly a month and although he was anxious to come home, he said he will miss the staff members and wants to say "Thank you" to each and every one of them. If you have to chose between Kings in Houghton Lake and the other facility in Roscommon, chose Kings. We have had experience with both and I highly recommend Kings.

My father has been at King Nursing Center for over a month now and I feel very confident that he is being treated with the best care, compassion, and respect. The nurses and caregivers are genuine and kind when assisting my Dad and other patients. While the facility may need a little TLC, what really matters is the love and compassion the caregivers have for their patients. There are living angels at King and my family is grateful. Thank you🙏🏻

My son was lodged at this facility for 2.5 months. He's 41 and suffers with TBI... traumatic brain injury. He gave them a run for their money at times and they handled it very professionally. They treated him very well as well as us family members. I told my kids if I ever needed care to send me here. Thanks so much to the entire staff for the care you gave my son!! Facility was kept clean and the meals was on point.
