Management grossly overpaid . there are a few managers there that I wouldn’t put in charge of a lemonade stand !!! All anyone has to do that is looking to move to Kendal is ask how many CEOs have they had in the last eight years that will tell you the whole story.

Kendal on Hudson provides me with an ideal living and learning environment! I have friendly neighbors. I enjoy stimulating activities, healthy meals, extensive services, lectures, movies, trips, college courses, fun-filled celebrations and so much more! Importantly and affordably, Kendal provides me with the security of lifetime extended care in a private room in it's 5 star rated facility! My Kendal contract is my ultimate long term care plan!

Initially, the independent living section at Kendal on Hudson was wonderful, however as our loved one stepped down to the care sections, their experience declined and our concerns grew. Due to several upsetting incidents, we asked about placing a camera in their room. We were informed cameras were NOT permitted by Kendal on Hudson (except in independent living). After our loved one passed away, our family arrived to clear out their room in the Sunnyside section and were shocked to find it had been left unlocked since our loved one had been taken into the hospital. Upon entering the room it was obvious many items were missing. We informed the administrator and were treated terribly. Ultimately, the incident was reported to the police. It was an awful time for our family, made so much worse by the treatment we received, and the complete lack of accountability or responsibility for protecting our loved one’s property. Kendal’s policy of no cameras throughout areas of the care sections, including residents’ rooms, allowed them to completely control the narrative. This really made us question some of our earlier concerns. I wish we had a better experience because our loved one sold their family home to enter this facility. Unless Kendal on Hudson has changed their policy, I would suggest you consider a facility with a camera-friendly policy, as it’s often the only witness these vulnerable residents have.

It's been a wonderful environment for my mother, my aunt and my uncle. They really do care about the people they care for.

I can only comment on the rehab portion. My 91 year old mother in law was there for a brief rehab post half hip replacement. The therapy was good but discharge was horrible. The nursing services were on paper only and we had to scramble on a late Friday afternoon to get a new agency to come in. I also was upset that she was released on a Friday with no services until Monday. Finally I was appalled that she was released without a Walker. I can't recommend them for rehab
