My mother spent nearly 10 years at Kendal, and loved it. Fast forward, and i am now a new resident at Kendal and am equally pleased. Pleased with: the marketing staff who explained all the options and contract; the transitions staff who helped make the move in as painless as possible; the Facilities staff who completely revamped the residence (new floors, windows, shades, appliances, patio etc) and the Resident Care unit providing health and wellness support. And the Dining staff who provide good meals and great service.

My wife and I have been at Kendal for two months after fifty years in a house. We are delighted to be here. I make an analogy between Kendal and a cruise ship with respect to ease of living and enjoyment. The food is tasty and plentiful, and there are many activities from which to choose to satisfy intellectual, social, and physical needs.

When I walk into Kendal each day I feel welcomed by residents and staff. Staff often go above and beyond to help residents in all areas of care including nursing staff, dining staff, maintenance, activities, EVS, IT services, social work, marketing, and management.

I love how the Activities and Life Engagement staff members use creative approaches to engage residents in group and individual activities! The residents of the Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Independent Living communities participate in a wide range of activities and outings. Just a few examples of the many activities that the residents can choose from are: boat cruises, karaoke, museum trips, exercise classes, and painting groups. There are many more activities that both groups of residents and individuals can join. Participation in these life enriching opportunities helps the residents to live their best possible lives.

My mother has been a resident here for decades. She is now 94 and in skilled nursing. She started out at Kendal with my now deceased father swimming daily and enjoying living in an external cottage. She made many friends back then and enjoyed many activities. She has received excellent care every step of the way as she has aged. Kendal at Ithaca is an outstanding facility. And by the way, the food is great!
