Our family's experience with Bridges Cornell Heights has been nothing short of exceptional. Both our parents spent their final years (at different times) at this wonderful place, and we could not have asked for a better environment for them to call home.

Our mother was cared for with genuine compassion and empathy by the entire staff. They weren't just caregivers; they became extended family who truly understood her needs and treated her with dignity and respect. The level of attention and personalized care she received gave our family tremendous peace of mind during her final years. She had just moved in when the pandemic swept in, and we felt so lucky that she found herself in the best possible place during those challenging times.

Our father had previously spent his final years at Bridges, and the quality of care he received was equally outstanding. It was based on this experience that we decided it was a great place for our mother to be cared for when her time came. Dad was not an easy person and the staff's dedication to ensuring his comfort and happiness was evident in every interaction. They went above and beyond to accommodate his specific needs and preferences. He was tough customer!

The attention to little things at Bridges made all the difference. The food was both nutritious and delicious, offering a wonderful variety that our parents genuinely enjoyed. The almost daily musical concerts brought enormous pleasure to all the residents, as did the excursions, the exercise sessions with Rosa and then the all-out celebrations around the holidays - not to mention the Super Bowl parties.

Between our 2 parents, they spent time in all the various residences Bridges offers, and each one was thoughtfully designed. The living spaces were not just functional but created a warm, homey atmosphere that never felt institutional. A pizza oven at The Tudor, a huge open kitchen at The Crafstman, the attention to detail in creating these comfortable environments showed a deep understanding of what residents need to feel at home. And what we, as frequent visitors, appreciated greatly. Shout out to both Chef Ed and to Chef Arthur for their culinary skills and good humor.

We are deeply grateful to the entire Bridges team for the exceptional care they provided to both our parents. If you're looking for an assisted living facility where your family will be treated with dignity, compassion, and the highest standard of care, we wholeheartedly recommend Bridges Cornell Heights.Thank you Bridges team for all that you did and continue to do for others, we reman in constant gratitude and awe. Of course we are both planning to sign up for your waiting list in the near future :)

Daughters Leslie and Andrea

An elderly loved one moved from a nursing home rehab stay to Brides Colonial. It was like being in Heaven. The Aides treated B. like he was their elderly father. They filed his nails if they grew long. They smiled and joked with shy B. and made him feel at home. They gently slid a small pillow under his arm in the wheelchair and bundled him up for bus trips to medical appointments. Many of the wonderful Aides came from the Ukraine and we understood they had so many challenges of their own, but always their care was thoughtful, attentive and gentle. When we came to visit almost every day the lovely, observant, talented Aides smiled, welcomed family, and pushed B. into the sunny parlor. They smiled and welcomed us and offered warm drinks during the cold weather. The entire team atBridges handled all matters, large and small, cooperatively, maintaining a calm atmosphere, while juggling the challenges. The meals were served in beautiful surroundings, each meal prepared by skilledchefs. No restaurant could match the fine meals served in such well-appointedmanner, every meal, every day of the week. When we had questions, the Director Elizabeth, the Assistant Director Susan, were responsive and imaginative problem solvers. Gabriel guided us on any tech issueswith creative solutions and patiently explained all financial matters. Lisa, understood and remediated with Nursing all of the various medical issues that afflicted B.She too treated Bryan and his loved ones like we were family.Carlos, Yolande, Victoria went out of their way to support Bryan and keep him comfortable. The nighttime Aide Richard was wonderful, and B. felt so safe whenhe woke and saw Richard was there.
And this outstanding staff arranged care so skillfully for all of B.’s housemates as well. Whether the challenges were cognitive or physical decline, each person received individualized support.
When it was time for B. to leave, he said he would always think of his time inBridges Colonial as a safe, comfortable, supportive time in his life.

If B. or any other family member is ever in need of more care, Bridges will be our first choice.
We are grateful for B.’s care at Bridges.
Anyone who is accepted in Bridges is very fortunate.
And family members will enjoy every visit to Bridges.
M.I., March 27, 2025

We are writing this review in response to Carl Mazzocone's post.

We are so sorry for Carl’s loss. Losing a father at any age is difficult. Even when someone lives into their nineties, as our dad did, you think they will live forever. Everyone will say how lucky you are to have had them for so long, and while that is true, we think it makes the loss harder. Because they have always been there, and then they are not. The first year after their passing is tough -- especially celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, and special events without them.

We feel compelled to share our experience at the Craftsman with those who may read Carl’s review. Our experience could not have been more different than his. We want to advise people that Carl’s experience is NOT the norm. On the contrary. Everyone we know who has had a family member at the Craftsman or Bridges cannot praise this organization and the staff enough for taking such extraordinary care of their loved ones, especially as they faced the end of life.

I live half a mile from the Craftsman, and I was able to visit our father almost daily. What a joy it was to spend time with him –in the dining room where Ed and his staff prepared delicious meals, at the happy hour where they poured Dad his daily scotch, in the pool exercising, or on the patio soaking in the sun while he read his New York Times. The staff catered to Dad (and to us). He felt cherished by Parvis, Dan, Debbie and the entire Craftsman team. He often would look up at the sky and say, “how lucky can you get?” Dad was truly in seventh heaven at the Craftsman.

Our father spent the last two years of his life surrounded by love at the Craftsmen and he died there, in his beautiful, comfortable room. He had a wonderful time at the Craftsman — and so did we. Between Hospicare and Bridges —he had a very peaceful end of life experience. Once we entered into an agreement with Hospicare, we understood that they would make medical decisions to manage his pain and ease his discomfort, not us. These individuals are the experts in end of life care - death was new to us (thankfully) and very scary. We are so grateful that the care our dad received from Hospicare and Bridges enabled us to be fully present with him in his final hours.

We are deeply sorry that Carl lives with so much regret and sadness. We want others who are considering this option to know that we are grateful for and appreciative of the incredible care our dad received from the Craftsman staff at the end of his life. We recommend Bridges and the Craftsman to you without reservation!!!

Jane Powers and Nancy Harney, daughters of Bob Levine

Bridges is fantastic!! Five stars across the board. My mother lived there for almost seven (7) years and she got excellent care every hour of every day. The food is great and varies daily. Staff genuinely care about every resident and do their best daily to make all the residents lives as good as possible. The residents have a wide variety of abilities and needs, and Bridges treats each one as a unique individual. They are flexible and responsible with all details small and big. Highly recommended.
