My sister was diagnosed with dementia and I was extremely fortunate to be able to place her at Jurgens Park Senior Living Memory Care facility. I contacted Shelley Turner, Community Resource Director, who by coincidence is the same person who got my sister into Assisted Living at a different facility 2 years ago. One call to Shelley and she handled everything else. She introduced me to Maria Campero, Executive Director at Jurgens and they both took complete control and expedited all issues getting my sister admitted within a weeks time. The facility location is fantastic set in a nice peaceful area in Tualatin with beautiful grounds. All individual building units are single level and the rooms and inside areas are so clean that it they look brand new. In my sisters Memory Care building there are only 24 tenants in 12 shared rooms but each room has a fixed divider for privacy. All of the staff has been amazing and have made my sisters transition to Jurgens Park so smooth that she settled in right away. I have met almost all of the staff by now and they genuinely CARE about their tenants and my sister could not be in a better facility. I visited 4 other Memory Care facilities a year ago and once I toured Jurgens Park I knew this was the place for her and I was very fortunate that they had a vacancy when I needed to move her. Jurgens Park Senior Living has several options for Assisted Living and Memory Care. If you need a great place to care for a family member call Shelley and Maria!

Farmington Square Tualatin was home to my mother for six years until her death on 6/9/2021. Although Alzheimer's diminished her memory and ultimately took her life my mother never lost her love for others, her compassion for and appreciation of everyone she knew. The caring staff at Farmington Square Tualatin are deeply compassionate, dedicated, hardworking caregivers who treat each resident with loving care. My mother was warmly welcomed into the Farmington Square community with open arms. As with other residents she became part of the Farmington Square family and was always treated with love and respect. All of the staff and management including housekeeping, food service, med techs, aides, activities staff and director, community relations director, care coordinators, nurses – (and others I may be forgetting) are kind and dedicated. They really are a family and treat residents as family members. I live across the country and was welcomed to visit when I was in Oregon. Although I always tried to schedule my visits at a time when it would not disrupt the daily house routine, I was always welcomed and invited to take part in any activity my mother was involved in. Additionally, the activities director went out of her way to offer face time calls, telephone calls and other ways of connecting with my mom even when I was in Connecticut. My sister is local in Oregon and always felt heard and respected if she raised a concern or had a suggestion about care or about my mother’s needs. Family is integral in the patient plan of care. Residents are allowed the level of independence that is safe for them. Each resident is treated as an individual and great effort is made to optimize their level of function while maximizing their safety. Staff and management worked diligently throughout the Covid 19 pandemic to keep residents and each other safe. During the extended time that it was not possible to have in-person family visits there was always good communication about what was planned and what was happening. There is much more I could say With great gratitude, Kristen

I highly recommend Farmington Square Tualatin. They are caring, supportive, communicate concerns well and promptly with family members, serve tasty, nutritious food, keep the facility and grounds clean and neat, give prescription medications meticulously; housekeeping and laundry services are first rate. Transitioning our loved one with dementia from his home to memory care was very difficult for us emotionally, but the staff provided support and care not only to the new resident, but also to us, the family. We have visited unannounced at all hours and always find caring, intelligent, dedicated staff and well-cared-for residents. We visited other facilities before choosing this one, and one of the primary reasons for our choice was the quality of the staff, and their ability to hire, train, and utilize people who care, are gentle, and capable of dealing with the broad spectrum of emotions and behaviors of residents with dementia and their families. We are comfortable knowing that our loved one is well, happy, provided with activities, supervised 24/7, and we don't have to worry about his care.

I know there is no place like home, but when a loved one requires more than you can provide at home, I highly recommend Farmington Square Tualatin. When you first have a loved one away from home it is an adjustment for both you and your family member. Seeing others with severe dementia can be very intimidating, but give them a chance, they are still in there and have a lot of lessons to teach us as caregivers. I am now able to have my husband at home, but he was in the Alpine memory care unit for 4 months. He received excellent care, the meals were amazing and he was treated with such dignity. There are many choices for residential care, but I cannot imagine anything better. The environment is clean and inviting, many activities are provided and each family is encouraged to participate. Many of the staff have been there a long time, which says to me that they are appreciated and love what they do for the people we love. Everyone from the administrative staff to housekeeping is friendly and kind and all listen to any concerns you may have. Sadly health care is expensive, but I consider Farmington Square a bargain for the quality of care and caring you will receive. I am happy that my husband is at home, but I miss the staff and residents and their families I got to know so well. There are always concerns in a community living environment, but when the time comes again when we need residential care.....Our first choice will be Farmington Square.
