JL Richard Terrace

JL Richard Terrace is an affordable housing community for seniors aged 62 and older located in Oakland, California, just blocks from scenic Lake Merritt. The community also welcomes adults with disabilities who qualify as very low or extremely low income according to HUD income limits.

The community consists of 80 studio and one-bedroom apartments. Each unit includes a kitchen with electric range/oven, refrigerator, and garbage disposal. The building features electronically controlled access and limited parking for residents.

Residents have access to a Community Room for gatherings and scheduled activities, as well as outdoor common space shared with the adjacent Irene Cooper Senior Apartments. Residents are permitted to keep common household pets in their apartments, and service or assistance animals are also welcome.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the premises, and residents must sign a non-smoking agreement. HumanGood, the operator, maintains a policy of reasonable accommodations for residents with disabilities and provides equal housing opportunity regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, age, familial status, marital status, source of income, or disability.
