My friend has been in rehab at Excell for some weeks. First of all, they make every effort to make it possible for the patient to receive phone calls. My friend left to go to the hospital for an emergency procedure. When he returned he was in the same room and bed. I was surprised and pleased.

I was warmly greeted by the staff member doing check-in today. I find it odd that the other staff usually never look up at the guest or greet them; the only one who ever acknowledges people is the person on the end. Very off putting. However, the women who was greeting people today was very social and welcoming! I appreciated that. Overall, it appears that the care has been good. The place is always clean.

This facility has serious management issues. Several people in leadership positions are related to one another, which creates clear conflicts of interest and a lack of accountability when mistakes happen. The focus seems to be more on generating revenue than providing quality care or supporting the staff who actually look after residents. I would never let any of my family members receive care here again. Families should ask careful questions about how this facility is run before choosing it for their loved ones.
