This place feels a bit dated as a facility, and pretty institutional, however the care is compassionate and the staff are kind/caring. They have a lot of patients, however so can't be with your loved one every minute obviously, but that being said, they make a really good effort to keep them comfortable and help them with the things they need like eating or drinking, changes, adjusting the room temps/lighting or other needs. The room had good air flow when the windows were open, which I think my Dad really appreciated. The food is just ok, but not much different than other food I've tasted at hospitals or other facilities. They are good about printing out the list of everything the patient is receiving. The rooms were pretty loud, however, with lots of sirens and noise from other units' patients blasting their iPads or TV's at full volume. If you close the door, however, it helps quite a bit. The food/beverage aid station is usually not far from the rooms so if your loved one wants something like a beverage it is easy to access. Visiting hours are 8am-8pm. The times I went there I didn't have to pay for parking, but I also walked or took the bus often. Be prepared to identify your loved ones' room number and check in at each visit. Occasionally I was given a meal with my Dad, which I really appreciated and thought was a kind gesture. The things these staff put up with day after day is quite commendable, so please be nice to those caring for your loved one.

The staff were not in the room when I had to be administered medications every single time. They would just leave them in a small cup and leave the room. I could sense, could tell, and understand that I am not the only patient here and that there are other patients here besides me. However, I have an aspiration risk due to a mild swallow disorder that I have been diagnosed with. There were maybe one to three daytime shift nurses who did this. One specific nurse who did so repeatedly. Also, the initial day of discharge into the day after the initial discharge date, the RN, LN, and/or CNA continued coming into the room, persistently harassing me asking me when I am going to get picked up to go home. Personally, I would rate this place at a 0/5 or a 1/5.

They used to be the best. Sadly not anymore. My mom has been there for 12 years so my experience spans many years and many staff changes. Pandemic ruined the long term facility and in spite of yet another leadership change (which no one communicated about), things haven’t improved. They are good about taking notes during the care conferences, telling you “the right thing” and hiding behind compliance. Stay away from it if you truly care about your loved ones. “Compassionate caring” is only on the surface. They are stuck in the 20th century. Internet is slow, no online access to resident’s activities, no proactive communication/regular news letters, no family council. If you are not independent in terms of mobility - no fresh air for you as there is no staff to help take you outside. And not to forget - PARKING! You have to pay $15 to visit your loved ones during the week. Poor residents - instead of promoting the visitations so they don’t feel lonely, it is just the opposite with the parking situation. Simply sad.

My mother spent a little over a month at the Jewish Home, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff on F3. They were amazing, attentive, and truly cared about their work. From day one, my mom felt supported and well cared for, which made a world of difference in her recovery. The F3 leadership team was kind, approachable, and always helpful, ensuring that any concerns or questions were addressed quickly. The CNA team works incredibly hard, always maintaining a positive attitude and going above and beyond to make sure residents feel comfortable and cared for. Their dedication and kindness truly stood out. The PT and OT team were also incredible—not only were they skilled in their work, but they also kept my mother motivated, positive, and gently pushed her when needed to help her regain her strength. The food was mostly good, which is always a plus in a healthcare setting. But what really stood out was the compassion and dedication of the entire team. I highly recommend the Jewish Home to anyone looking for a facility that prioritizes both care and dignity for their loved ones. Thank you to everyone on F3 for making a difficult time easier for our family!
