James River staff took excellent care of my Mom. She was there for about 18 months before her death. Teri, Leslie, Heather and everyone (sorry I can’t remember all their names) are excellent care givers. Mandee makes sure all the residents are busy and stimulated. Sometimes they are short of staff is the only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars. The techs and aides make up for the shortfall with lots of hard work. Love you guys!!❤️

There are some staff who will not listen to you. That can be very frustrating when it comes to good health. Others are very empathetic

My mother unfortunately has to stay here until another facility is available. She is on hospice care. Multiple times we have found her water put completely out of her reach. Once her call button was tucked into the end of her roommates bed! Another time they didn't bother pulling her pants up. Left them around her ankles and pulled the covers up. A couple of the CNAs seem to care, but they are over worked and the patients suffer. If you can send your loved one anywhere else, please do. Oh! I heard them interviewing someone and she said she had a couple of minor convictions for drug paraphernalia. That's not a problem at James River!

Looks are deceiving!!! They knew my father was very sick and couldn’t feed himself and they didn’t feed him or treat the wounds on his rear end he laid there and no one checked on him. Then knowing he cant walk insisted he just get up and walk!!!! He hasn’t walked in years!!! He lasted 2 days before having to go back to the hospital and the ER nurse and DR at the ER told me that nothing had been done he had pneumonia in both lungs now lucky it was caught in time but he is still in a step down of ICU and we pray he comes out of this. This is not a care center you go there to die!! We are sickened about the whole situation!!!!
