The employees are so nice but Intermountain Healthcare, got rid of the care. Literally. It's just Intermountain health. A private equity firm from back east bought them and is gutting pensions and services. My mom worked for IHC hospice many years ago and chose them for my dad. The IH hospital my dad was at for heart and kidney failure pushed their hospice hard and outright lied about what services were included. For nearly 2 weeks the only help my family had was twice weekly visits ftom a nurse. I called to get help getting my dad ready for bed when we couldn't do it anymore. I had to call three times and each time I was told that they didn't know anything. A hospice company didn't know how to send help. Ridiculous! The fifth person I spoke to after four hours of calls apologized and explained that they don't have hospice aids that work after 5 pm and they only send them three times a week at most. The nurse was supposed to schedule them. After another phone call they finally said they would send someone. She was very nice but confirmed we couldn't get scheduled help after 5 pm. I immediately called a plus hospice and in minutes had spoken to someone and had a visit scheduled. They offer aids up to twice a day and 12 times a week. Our choice to move to a plus was further confirmed when I called IH hospice with a medical emergency at 1 AM and waited 15 minutes on hold with an answering service. 15 minutes! And they just told me I had already done what I could. When we met with a plus today they brought the social worker and nurse. The new oxygen was delivered in an hour. One with a humidifier since IH didn't even offer that and my dad was sneezing from the dry air. Do not use IH. Go to a plus. They even have a massage therapist.
