My aunt just moved here sometime last year. I visited her for the first time last November. I had the most unpleasant and worst customer service non friendly experience with front desk person by the name of Shiela. I had wanted to write this review for awhile but just have not had the opportunity to write it until now. However, I have this burden to write it due to the most unpleasant experience I went through and I wanted to make sure management and potential clients knew about this in case they wanted to have their family member stay here. My first visit last November, I made my aunt dinner and brought an air fryer as I knew she wouldn’t have a stove etc. I also brought two musical instruments - keyboard and a cello - to serenade my aunt as she loves music and also so that we could keep her mind engaged. I also had a bunch of other organic fruits from my garden to gift her and my sleeping bag (she had invited me to stay overnight but I hadn’t decided yet if I would or not). So, in essence, I was towing a lot of items with me. I approached the front desk and asked the lady, Sheila, which room my aunt was in as I had come to visit her and it was my first visit. I also asked her where I could park as there was no parking in the front and they are doing renovations currently. She told me that I could find street parking anywhere or I could park in their complimentary valet parking lot. So, I started unloading my belongings at the front desk and not once did she inform or offer me a moving/ luggage cart UNTIL I had completely unloaded my belongings - even though I had told her ahead of time, I had a lot of items. In addition, I was not right at the front door, I was more like 4 cars down the cul de sac loading/ unloading zone as there were other cars in front of mine…. I had to make probably 4-5 trips back and forth. To say the least, I through that was pretty rude - but not as rude as her overall attitude and demeanor (keep reading below). She told me that the valet parking lot was “somewhere nearby” but oh but she added that it was just “easier” to find street parking at 730/8 pm -NOT! (I suspect she didn’t want to get off her butt and on her high heel shoes and give me a parking coupon or something or have the person come over and drive my car there). Not sure. I asked her where exactly the parking lot was so I could assess my options. She couldn’t tell me specifically so I finally just drove up and down that street outside Morningstar for about 5-10 minutes until I finally found a tight space on a side street at least 10 minutes walking away. At this point, I was pretty frustrated with Shiela to say the least. When I got back, I decided to specifically ask her to please drop a pin on the exact location of the valet parking lot on my phone so that I could know for future reference where this complimentary valet parking lot was. She is not new. I know she’s been there for awhile from other residents who also say she can “have an attitude”. Yet, she couldn’t tell me where the parking lot was… go figure. She waved her arm and finger and said “somewhere here”. Later, I found out from other employees and residents that the parking lot was pretty much almost directly across the street from Morningstar (less than 3 minute walk) and had plenty of available parking spaces!! Did I mention “rude” and “poor customer service”?? Oh but to top it off, I had told her my aunt’s name. She supposedly looked it up (or is deaf?- NOT). I loaded all my belongings onto the moving/ luggage cart she finally offered me after I came back from the 10 minute walk from the street parking (she did not mention the cart anytime she saw me come in and out with multiple large bulky items and she wasn’t even busy - there was no other guests around except me at the time)! She told me to go to a room# on the 2nd floor - it was some other person’s room! when I finally came down with the cart and belongings, she looked up the correct room and I don’t think she even apologized. Would stay away from this establishment with a 10 foot pole! Poor CS!

MorningStar of Pasadena has been a fantastic community for my parents to settle in to after leaving their home of 50+ years. Dimetris was instrumental in guiding us through all the steps needed to make the move happen. He made a stressful process so much easier! For my parents, the transition to a new home has been difficult at times, but the staff here has gone the extra mile to help them adjust quickly. We are so grateful for how everything has worked out!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5-Star Review: A Wonderful Home for My Aunt with Dementia “I can’t say enough about the care and compassion my Aunt has received at Morning Star Pasadena , Ca.. When we began looking for a place where she could thrive despite her dementia, we visited many facilities, but this one truly stood out from the start. The staff here is not only highly trained in dementia care but also remarkably patient, kind, and attentive. They go out of their way to make her feel safe, respected, and cared for every day. Also ensuring me anytime I have a concern of worry . They always offered a solution . Knowing that she’s in an environment that’s designed to support memory care has given our family immense peace of mind. What’s especially wonderful is how they keep her engaged with various activities and therapies tailored to residents with dementia. Whether it’s music, crafts, gentle exercises, or dancing she always has a positive outlet and routine that makes her feel valued and connected. The facility itself is clean, beautifully maintained, and has cozy common areas where residents can socialize. I’m grateful to the entire team at Morning Star of Pasadena for creating a warm, compassionate community that supports not just my Aunt but also our family. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for her, and I would highly recommend Morningstar to anyone searching for a loving and professional senior care facility for their loved one with dementia.” 5 stars, without a doubt! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

7/30/2022 - Toured the MorningStar Senior Living with my uncle this afternoon under the director of community relationship, Sandie, who acts very professional and informative. We are all impressed with this 5-star luxurious senior living residences. Its hallway with elegant lighting looks like The Ritz-Carlton. The tendrous and tasting Grilled Mahi Mahi is one of the best - Only a highly skilled chef can make it - you can't find it easily in many restaurants. It is worth mentioning that you can clearly see the Huntington Hospital from a balcony (only 0.6 miles away from the MorningStar)
