My brother had a terrible experience while at Huntsville Health & Rehab. The staff does not communicate, personal items were lost or stolen, and they involuntarily discharged him without 30 days notice as required by Federal law. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

My 70 year old father is at this rehab! When he got there he waited 3 hours for his oxygen,called about his medication because he was in severe pain,spoke with nurse she said she was getting his nerve meds, That’s not for pain! My brother and husband had to change him on a day we was there he was soaking wet had asked a hour ahead about changing him, by the time we got there still no nurse! After a few days had a nurse telling me that they had 2 patients one with autism was having sex and they just walk in and clean around them and let it go on! My dad stays on the call button about his medication,hours later they bring it! They came in and got on my fathers roommate said he was vaping,screaming at the man in front of everyone, they never saw the man with one, he goes outside to smoke! After all this they call me and tell me my father is being discharged for vaping! My father don’t vape, he not able to his breathing is really bad! I told them my dad wasn’t in a shape to come home and we couldn’t take care of him. Right now,he hasn’t walked in 2 months! They told me they would order him a bed, I had to beg them to let him stay a little longer and get stronger or find him another place to go! My dad is so scared about coming home right now! So now they have a person setting in their room 24/7 to watch them for vapes,but they let 2 residents have sex! The only thing good I can say about this place is the physical therapy team! After all this we still got a phone call saying the facility was going to discharge my dad, and the guy that called us about dad coming home said they don’t have a home health care that reaches out to where we live! I want my dad home , but he wants to walk and be able to take care of his self first! I’m at a loss I stay with my dad as much as they let me! I had one nurse tell me I could stay all night with him, then was told I couldn’t stay! Please don’t put your loved ones here! My brother and I are just bringing him home! We have googled and watched videos on how to care for him on our own! Every night when I go to leave all the staff is sitting in the cafeteria in the dark on their phones! This place is horrible! My brother and I will take care of him and work with him! We have called and asked to speak with director they hang up on us every time! Just spoke with the director again because he finally called me told me if I took the review down my father wouldn’t be baby sat,so I took the review down they are still setting in there with my father listening to every phone call writing things down that’s personal that I talk with my father about! This place is a joke, my father is a very sick man yes, but his mind is on point, thank god I have arranged for him to come home with me and I can care for him here! He should still have his dignity! They worry about the wrong things! It takes my father hours to get his meds, to get changed because they are short handed or so they claim to be! Please don’t put your loved ones here, they are not cared for.

I brought my grandmother here for respite care while I was away on a business trip. The staff was very welcoming, they asked plenty of questions also while assisting me with mine. They kept in touch the whole time, will be using them again! 10/10!!

Best place to bring my grandma, the staff are amazing. The nurses are great, facility is extremely clean and smells great. The administrator Latoya is always willing to answer any questions I have. Bre in admissions made my process very easy getting my grandma in for rehab.

I was in the process of arranging placement for my mother at Huntsville Health and Rehab and was initially told they could accept her. During the conversation, I asked about the admission paperwork process and was informed that they do not use DocuSign or any electronic signature system and require all documents to be signed in person. Because I live an hour away, I expressed concern about the lack of electronic options and asked whether the facility was up to date in terms of modernization. I explained that I would need to adjust my schedule but could likely be there within two hours, possibly later that afternoon. Within five minutes of that discussion, I was informed that they had decided to give the bed to another patient. The timing made it feel as though simply asking reasonable questions about technology and logistics raised concerns on their end about us as a family. If that was the case, it is troubling. Families advocating for their loved ones should not be viewed as “problems” for asking basic questions about process and facility standards. The experience left me concerned about transparency and how families who ask questions are perceived.
